Weeks after the nine year anniversary of the death of singer Aaliyah, Hip Hop mogul turned gallery owner Dame Dash has announced an exhibit that will feature works of art celebrating the life of Aaliyah.

Billboard.com reports that Dash is currently looking for submissions for the Aaliyah exhibit. Dash is hoping to find pieces “that captures Aaliyah’s essence and strength as an artist.”

The deadline to submit works of art for the exhibit is November 1 and portraits will not be accepted. All entries must be mailed to: The Dash Gallery, 172 Duane St. New York, NY 10013.

Prior to the tragic plane crash in 2001, Aaliyah and Dash were dating one another and allegedly had plans on getting married in 2002.

“She was the best person I ever knew…I never met a person like her in my life,” Dash explained to MTV News shortly after Aaliyah’s death. “Every day that we were together, we cherished. Every memory — every day was a special event, whether it was going to a store or going to a movie or just sitting in a house. Wherever we were was like our own little party, in our own little world.”
