Ok, its been pretty easy to download music off the internet right? Well, how you feel if Eminem asked you not too? (I know what your thinking!) Eminem, Nelly, Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Britney Spears, Madonna and many others have joined forces in ad campaigns to stop illegal music downloading. The campaigns will run on televisions as well as newspapers around the country. The website www.musicunited.com holds several of the artists comments on illegally downloading music on the internet.
Eminem said, “I’m sorry; when I worked 9-to-5, I expected to get a paycheck every week. It’s the same with music; if I’m putting my heart and all my time into music, I expect to get rewarded for that. I work hard and anybody can just throw a computer up and download my music for free. It could kill the whole purpose of making music.” Several of the artists involved in as Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the Songwriters Guild of America are working on this campaign.
