According to, two men are now facing lawsuits after being paid thousands to book artists including Drake and Ciara for various shows.

The two men who claim to be promoters, Carlos Goodspeed and Jason Rudd, are being sued by 80’s Baby Entertainment a Texas-based promotions company. 80’s Baby Entertainment is seeking $50,000 from Goodspeed and Rudd on top of damages resulting from fraud, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and theft of service.

On separate occasions, 80’s Baby Entertainment booked both Drake and Ciara through Goodspeed and Rudd but neither entertainer ever appeared at their events. Deposits were paid to Goodspeed and Rudd was never returned to 80’s Baby Entertainment.

“In mid February [of 2010], plaintiffs called Cortez Bryant directly and asked him about Drake’s booking for March in Austin, Texas,” states the lawsuit. “Cortez Bryant said he had no knowledge and had not been informed of Carlos Goodspeed booking Drake for Plaintiffs. Cortez Bryant made a statement that Carlos Goodspeed is ‘fake booking,’ and that Drake’s booking had been outsourced to another management group.”

Just a few months ago a man was taken to court for posing as Drake’s manager and booking false shows.
