Eminem will host a freestyle Rap battle this month in his Detroit hometown. The event, titled “Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile” will be hosted by Dres The Beatnik, and will include judges Alchemist, Mr. Porter, and Eminem. Eight emcees from different cities will participate in the event on August 26. In addition, Hip Hop supergroup Slaughterhouse will perform at the event.

In other news, Diddy and other artists are slated to perform at the Justin Timberlake and Friends benefit concert in October. Diddy will be joined by his group Dirty Money, and other acts such as Salt-N-Pepa and T-Pain.

The event goes down in Las Vegas on Oct. 23.

Lastly, Yung Joc was cited by police when his neighbor’s dog was attacked by both of his pit bulls. According to reports, the Atlanta rapper said the dogs managed to escape his home after their electric collars malfunctioned. Joc apologized for the incident and said that he would pay for the dog’s medical expenses. (August 19)

UPDATE: Last night, 18 year-old emcee Saffal “FowL” Tall won the Eminem-hosted Red Bull event. FowL was the youngest competitor in the contest at Detroit’s famed Saint Andrew venue.
