While rapper Immortal Technique is still in the process of finishing up his much-anticipated fourth studio album The Middle Passage, he recently gave an update on his first project since 2008’s The 3rd World.

Describing the new album as a “very, very vivid journey” to AllHipHop.com, he explained, “[We’re] 8 songs deep into The Middle Passage. There was one sample that wasn’t clearable so we had to redo the song so it’s just been little stuff because we are trying to do it as official as possible.”

The Harlem rapper also added he may have something soon for the fans to keep them satisfied until The Middle Passage drops. “Besides just the record, I got another 5-6 songs that are from a few years ago that didn’t really match the vibe of the album, but they’re still dope, so we might do an unreleased Immortal Technique EP.”

In other news, teen rapper Diggy Simmons has chosen Chris Lighty and Violator Management to aid his emerging rap career.
