Ice Cube To Star In New “Friday” Film According To Co-Star John Witherspoon

Although it’s been 15 years since Friday After Next, it looks like Ice Cube has signed up for the next installment in the Friday film series, according to his co-star. John Witherspoon, who played Cube’s father, Mr. Jones, in both the original 1995 version of the film and aforementioned sequel, was a guest on The Power 95.3 GetUpCrew in Orlando when he dropped the news. While on air, Witherspoon mentioned he had just spoken to Cube and that the project had received the “green light.”

While details are scarce, the film is presumably in its infancy stages and it could be quite a while before it actually hits the theaters. After the monumental success of 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, Cube’s plate is full. He’s currently juggling several different endeavors, including his BIG3 basketball league, VH1’s Hip-Hop Squares and countless late night talk show appearances. Revisit some of Friday’s best scenes below.
