Gene Simmons reasserted his distaste for Rap recently in an interview with Rolling Stone when he said “I’m looking forward to the death of Rap.” This came after the Kiss singer has made negative comments about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducting Hip Hop artists.
N.W.A is the latest Hip Hop act to be welcomed into the Hall and member Ice Cube expresses disagreement with the singer’s assessment of the Rock genre.
“I respect Gene Simmons, but I think he’s wrong on this, because Rock ’N’ Roll is not an instrument and it’s not singing,” he says to The New York Times. “Rock ’N’ Roll is a spirit. N.W.A is probably more Rock ’N’ Roll than a lot of the people that he thinks belong there over hip-hop. We had the same spirit as punk rock, the same as the blues.”
N.W.A, known as the “World’s Most Dangerous Group,” is set to be inducted tomorrow (April 8) at the official ceremony in Brooklyn, New York. Kendrick Lamar is slated to introduce the group from his home of Compton, California. Ice Cube says that N.W.A will not perform at the event because of logistics.
“I guess we really didn’t feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on….” he says. “We wanted to do it on a whole other level, and that just couldn’t happen. But we’re totally honored, humbled and appreciative to the Hall for even just considering us, inducting us and inviting us.”

Not supported enough= didnt offer us enough $$$$$$$ greedy bitch why you cant even respect the mainstream shit anymore because the “artists” wont even make a bowel movement without the check having enough 00000’s in it to feed 10 families for a year
This is why I dont like Cube, he said he respected Gene Simmons, but Gene doesnt respect you though Cube at least I dont think. I dont think I could be in the position of most of these popular rappers, If Im not mistaking Simmons said something like rap was about
to die, I would of said something like naw Gene you will be dead before rap.
If he gets into a publicity war with another celebrity it could effect his sales on his upcoming movie though dont ever forget about that $$$$
he’s taking the high road. makes him look like the good guy and makes simmons look like the out of touch j.e.w.chebag he is.
. I just feel like Ice Cube sells a image to us based on his upcoming project. If he was doing a album
he would switch back to ganster mode and try to be the tough Ice cube. I dont think it would hurt the sell of tickets for barbershop if he came out and said F-ck gene simmons. The people that want to see this movie will go see it nobody that wants to see it is going to say Oh Ice cube said f gene simmons so Im not going to see the movie. But I feel what yall are saying he could say F gene simmons and dude could die in a month or so and that would be terrible for Cube brand.
In all honesty, hip-hop been dead and buried for well over a decade now. Real heads know this. What you hear and see today is not hip-hop music/culture. They really need to stop referring to that genre of music as hip-hop, because it ain’t hip-hop. Drake, Kanye, JCole, Kendrick Lamar, Fetty Wap, French Montana etc… it don’t matter… they all wack as fuck. All them wanksters from Chicago… they all wack as fuck and they clowns running around with gats. The game is simply a fucking embarrassment now. Poor flows and writing, terrible generic beats made quickly without putting in much effort due to technology, and gay fashion consisting of extra small sized clothing such as skinny jeans sagging. Real heads feel me on this. RIP hip-hop.
If you actualy listened to more than the radio and who they post about on sites like this you would not say hiphops dead its nowhere near dead its more alive than ever 95% of the artists i listen to you will never ever hear plugged on the radio or some website bullshit like this because they refuse to sell there souls and want to make the music they want to make without some record head dicks telling them whats hot and what to sound like to make money and waving a contract all around and dont give 2 shits about what people think of there sound because its there own and either you love it or hate it not just flipflop styles to sell records and with social media and means of getting messages across today the artists i enjoy are able to reach out to there fans and be heard where as early 2000’s 1990’s the internet wasnt shit compared to today and those artists never got heard unless you lived in there areas and seem them at shows the future of hiphops insanley bright hell for all genres of music and people just wanting to release unscripted unaltered music that some record label hasnt stomped all over and remain independant and have creative control shits only gonna get better and better
^^Geez, have you ever heard of periods and punctuation marks?
Half the people on here dont speak proper english as it is so i dont really find it worth wasting my time punctuating but clearly you have enough time to post about grammar on a HIP HOP website damn your retarded
“shits only gonna get better and better”… Only in your dreams, homie.
Probably not for you and your little stuck in the past hiphop scene and comparing the likes of jay z DMX notorious big bone thugs tupac wu tang clan and some of the greatest artists of all time from one of hip hops greatest eras where hip hop pretty much came up from and got commercialized and compare them to the likes of drake meek mill future lil wayne nicki minaj iggy azalia and kanye west representing our main stream of today then your right hip hops dead its total garbage but like i said go underground find all those hidden gems who carry on the legacy of what great hiphop was today and will be the future of INDEPENDANT hiphop and how it evolves and just will keep getting better its those damn label heads who just want a bunch of some dumbass white boys money because they represent the majority and the more they feel comfortable and can relate while listenining the more theyll spend so they keep toning down hiphop and making it more “approachable” and “positive messages” which just wasnt what hiphop was about it was about real life experiences and relating thru pain and about coming up from nothing and becoming something but those messages just dont relate to little white boys on mommy and daddies trust funds so they have to dumb it down to get there money once a majority of artists go independant and more and more labels get kicked to the curb youll see how alive hiphop still is
It wouldn’t hurt to use a period once in a while, people.
I agree with Df hiphop aint dead if you no what you like you can def find it on the internet. My homegirl from Atl just hit me with some new dude name Nick grant and his dope but I had never heard of him before. From a mainstream standpoint hip hop is not in a good position compared to where it was in the 90s. Bone thugs, outkast, wu all came out like 93-94, nobody can name one group from 1999-2016 that has came out that comes close to those groups. I cant say hiphop is dead with people like Freddie gibbs, big krit out there. The mainstream companies are manipulating to look like something its not to people who are not real hiphop fans.
Exactly man well said i have over 6,000 songs from thousands of artists just on my phone who would devour any mainstream bitch you put them against guys who spit straight fire but the fact is they cant be bought or owned by big labels cause they all know they just want to bend you over and fuck you and they refuse to it hides the true artists honestly the best and most talented label i can think of today is is strange music there artists all define themselfs and make amazing music yea you may not like every artists on there roster but they bring something different to the table every one of them and are true artists and i can guarentee you any person will like at least 1 artist off there roster at a minimum but the fans each of them do have are die hard commited fans not just zombies where as you got trash labels like roc nation cash money shit i dont even know half the terrible labels because i dont waste my time listening to there garbage lol but i cant wait to see what hiphop becomes its only gonna go up and up

Fack Donald Duck Tump
fuck black people killing black people saying black lives matter to me they do.its so sad hes not a raciest. hes dumb butwhen muslems come here ti kill non muslims dont cry to me
Gene Simmons was probably talking about today’s rap scene. He must’ve been. Ask Nas what he thinks of Gene they all respect him bc he actually LOVES Hip Hop, especially Nas. This whole decade is wack, we only have a handful that keep this shit afloat for the real.
The Problem is we have NYC and Philly mfs trying to sound like they are from the south. Another problem is we can’t understand them when they mumble and auto-tune on top of it. Its like a contest where rappers come up with a song that only have 2-3 English words the rest is all fucked.
Hip Hop is Dead? Try telling that to Roc Marciano, Action Bronson, Black Thought, RA The Rugged Man, KA, Reks, Beneficence, DITC etc. and they just might smack the sh!t out cha.
Regards
If action bronson ever tried to smack the shit out of me id go to my local fast food place grab a deep fry sampler throw it at him and watch that fatal heart attack finaly kick in
