Hit-Boy doesn’t appear to be letting up on his workload in the new year, having teased a new collaboration with Offset set to arrive this week.

The Grammy Award-winning producer took to his Instagram on Tuesday (January 10) to announce the forthcoming collaboration between himself and the former Migos rapper. In his post, Hit-Boy included photos showing the two posing for the camera.

With his caption, Hit revealed that whatever it is he and Offset have collaborated is going to arrive on Friday (January 13).

“1/13/23 @offsetyrn,” Hit-Boy captioned the post.

It’s unclear what the collaboration is for, but all signs point to Offset’s upcoming album. The Atlanta rapper spent most of 2022 working on the untitled project and revealed in an August interview with SSENSE what the project will sound like.

“This is just the beginning,” he explained. “It’s just gutter and core, from the heart. I got a lot of different flows on it. I’m rapping, even though I see a lot of the artists nowadays, they like auto tuning. A lot. I feel like I’m not on that wave at all. When I came in, we came out the trenches, so that’s what people want to hear, because that’s what people go through every day. Ain’t nobody driving a Wraith.”

He added: “[In] Black culture right now, and the world in general, the poors outweigh the rich one thousand percent. So you gotta talk about shit that’s going on in real life. Just the real content of what people see every day. Go back to that.”

Unfortunately, Offset pushed the album back indefinitely in November 2022, just a few days after his cousin and former Migos groupmate Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston, Texas. A screenshot of a DM exchange between Set and a fan confirmed the delay, with the fan writing in part: “It’s probably the last thing on your mind but is your album still dropping Friday?”

The Atlanta rapper replied: “No pushed back.”

Hit-Boy, on the other hand, had a prolific 2022 that saw him drop joint projects with Dreezy and Pacman Da Gunman while contributing to Beyoncé’sRenaissance, The Game’sDrillmatic, Ab-Soul’sHerbert, Conway The Machine’s God Don’t Make Mistakes and YG’s I Got Issues, among other albums.

His crowning achievement, though, was King’s Disease III, his fourth collaborative effort with Nas in three years and arguably the finest installment in their Grammy-winning series. The all-star campaign earned Hit-Boy HipHopDX‘s Best Producer of 2022 crown.

If that wasn’t enough, Musiq Soulchild revealed he was dropping a joint album with Hit-Boy during an interview on comedian Bill Bellamy’s Top Billin’ podcast earlier this month. Musiq revealed the title — Victims & Villains — and hinted at a February release.

Hit confirmed the news with HipHopDX. Then once social media got a hold of it, he confirmed it with a tweet that read: “R&B Hit-Boy otw.” He also shared a screenshot of his tweet on Instagram while tagging Soulchild, who replied with a series of water wave emojis.
