Hip Hop Digital Singles Sales: The Week Ending 6/24/2012

Pop group Maroon 5’s collaboration with Wiz Khlifa continues to be an unshakable chart-force. This week the song appeared at #4, in its double-platinum glory. Pitbull and Flo Rida were close behind, as they’ve been for a month. Flo added another track to the charts, as Meek Mill was the other Hip Hop act to debut a new single, Justin Bieber collaborations aside.

Meek Mill Tells The Charts “Amen”

Offered for free on Dreamchasers II, Maybach Music Group’s Meek Mill added the Drake and Jeremih-assisted “Amen” to the digital marketplace. Over 30,000 fans ponied up for the Key Wane-produced record. The MMG squad released their second compilation volume earlier this week, including a bulk of new Meek material.

Flo Rida Is A Digital Dealer

Flo Rida’s fourth single from the upcoming Wild Ones garnered a Top 100 debut. The Dance-inspired “Let It Roll” sold over 20,000 units for the Atlantic Records rapper-turned-Pop star.

    1. Shout out to Nicki, Drake, Wayne, Meek Mill, Big Sean. They are all fam and all getting that paper.

Pusha T, you are out of the circle. No one on your own team likes you. You don’t have a mixtape or album planned. You single with Swiss was terrible. You are about to be dropped boi. Get ready for that bankruptcy filing.

      1. lets see. pusha has a platinum album, contract with GOOD, his own clothing line, hit single mercy right now….i think he will be alright….

      2. No way is Pusha T worth $15mm.

        Lord Willin’ sold 1,050,000
Hell Hath No Fury sold 250,000
Till the Casket Drops sold 100k

You don’t build up a net worth of $15mm from record sales like that. Also, he had to share proceeds with his more talented brother Malice. You can’t even claim he made money off of radio spins…they had like a total of 4 singles.

And I’m sure that he’s spent a lot of the money he has made. That $15mm number is completely made up. You do the the math.

    2. LAUGHTERHOUSE burning up the charts… again!!

these bum niggas will try to whore themselves in every way possible and still come up fucking like dogshit.

not that their own ‘ideas’ are better (as their solo failures all prove) but still…

Hit em up – THEY WILL HELP U!!

    4. This is the only way underground artist can get rich…sell their music directly to digital platforms…

no shipping, distribution & printing cost…just recording cost

    5. Slaughterhouse needs to incorporate someone like David Guetta in order to get a hit single. Either him or Justin Bieber.

    6. lol @ the trolls who take every chance possible to hate on slaughterhouse on this site

like anybody expects them to sell anyway, we all know this 2012 right, the era when your most overpromoted, overhyped & “Iconic” artist of the last few years can barely sell double platinum after breaking 5 singles to the radio.

Rap dont sell shit…… People who dont rap like retards sell even less

      It is what it is

      1. nobody expects them to sell more than their crap Koch album sold BUT…

when you’re hyped to death AND make dogshit ‘commercial’ singles that totally fail on their own horrible terms…

they deserve all the scorn they get and more!!!

    7. Laughterhouse continues to FAILLLLLL (extra L’s for losses). First week sales less than 50K HAHAHA

    8. Hip-Hop isn’t dead, DUMMIES!!! As much as I respect Nas, that album title is for shame. And it wasn’t a very good album anyway. You little fools think hip hop is really dead? Go to the studio and make some decent hip-hop music. Get an underground following. Keep it real. Refuse to sell out and make less money, which is always a splendid idea. Apple and technology in general has buried the music industry into what it is today. Don’t blame the artists, blame corporations and technology which has converted entire albums into downloadable 83 megabyte files that can be copied countless times. It doesn’t mean hip-hop is dead though. Real hip-hop is over, that’s a better way to put it. It dies whenever it’s maker dies, or changes style to make more money. And since hardly any artist is making decent money off of sales alone, and DJ’s and generations of younger listeners follow in the footsteps of those who were relevant at a particular time, it will only get worse. Until rap music/ hip-hop is entirely generated by computers and artist are replaced by technology. Hip-hop will be replaced by video game consoles and robots will sell to other robots. Yall all a bunch of fuckin weirdos cuz. -ME

    9. I NEVER CHECK FOR SALES JUST THE REVIEWS TODAY ALBUM SALES=HOW GOOD THE MUSIC IS ACCORDING TO THE POSTERS ON THIS SITE

    10. It’s amazing how Stans get mad, because the artists that they like, aren’t selling major units.
