There were no new Hip Hop/Rap additions to the Top 200 of the charts. As Adele’s self-titled album reclaimed #1, the Beastie Boys did cross the 300,000 mark with their latest album, as Eminem’s 2010 solo is potentially a week or two away from 4,000,000 sold. With next week promising Watch The Throne digital numbers, as well as Royce Da 5’9’s Success Is Certain, this chart is calm before the storm, but colorful all the same.
Beyonce’s album 4 remained a Top 10 release. The Destiny’s Child alum’s fourth solo offering features an appearance by Outkast’s Andre 3000, along with production from Kanye West and his production team – including Jeff Bhasker, as well as a writing credit to former G.O.O.D. Music artist Consequence.
Royce Da 5’9 and Eminem (as Bad Meets Evil) and their album, Hell: The Sequel fell five spots. As of now, the Motor City natives are gradually approaching 500,000 units sold, which would earn Royce his first plaque from the RIAA.
DJ Khaled‘s major label debut, We The Best Forever fell 17 spots to #30. The Miami, Florida-based radio personality, deejay and producer is working with Cash Money/Universal Motown Records on this project in lieu of longtime label E1 Entertainment (f/k/a Koch Records). Khaled’s latest features the usual suspects of Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, as well as Drake and B.o.B.
Young Money’s Nicki Minaj bounced back into the top of the charts. The Queens, New Yorker’s solo debut, Pink Friday recently crossed the 1.5 million mark, while many media outlets focused more attention on the starlet’s recent wardrobe malfunctions. Her November ’10 release features Eminem, will.i.am and label-mate Drake.
Pitbull also gained some attention this week. The Miami, Florida native and onetime protege of Lil Jon and his Planet Pit album crossed the 150,000 mark. The album’s deluxe version features an appearance from Nelly, while other guests include T-Pain and J Records label-mate Jamie Foxx.

As Hell: The Sequel approaches gold, Eminem’s Recovery is fastly headed towards 4,000,000 sold, a first for a Rap album in over four years.
Fellow Wake Up Show alumni Tech N9ne continues to enjoy the best commercial year to date in his patient, 15-plus year career. The Kansas City, Missouri emcee has taken All 6’s & 7’s to over 120,000 units, which is still holding a Top 100 spot on the charts. The album features Lil Wayne, Yelawolf and Kendrick Lamar, among others. Yesterday, Tech’s Strange Music released Jay Rock’s debut album, Follow Me Home.
A follow-up to 2009’s Chamber Music, RZA and Wu-Tang Records released another E1 compilation in Legendary Weapons. Not to be confused as an official Clan album, this work, produced by Funk outfit The Revelations, along with guidance from RZA, featured Sean Price, Roc Marciano and Action Bronson, in addition to Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God and Inspectah Deck. Masta Killa and GZA did not participate. The work fell 87 spots in its second week on the charts.
Lupe Fiasco marches towards gold status with Lasers. The Atlantic Records star fell 18 spots last week on his spring album that features label-mate Trey Songz.
OFWGKTA‘s Tyler, The Creator and Goblin may leave the Top 200 before scoring 100,000 units sold. The Los Angeles, California native and his XL Records album are just units away from the feat.
Rank | Artist | Album | This Week | Est. Total |

Will Jay-Z & Kanye West’s Watch The Throne take a seat on the charts? Can Royce Da 5’9 prove that Success Is Certain? Stay tuned to HipHopDX next week to find out.
Let’s see, first of all that Adele cd is not self titled, it’s called 21 ( u have to live under a fuckin rock to not know that as long as it’s been on the charts) and tech n9ne has 4 CDs that have outsold all 6s and 7s. This place is run by some fuckin retards yo. How can you not get the album names right when you are looking at the charts? A simple google search of tech n9ne shows his sales, why dont y’all actually research shit b4 u post……
none of them sold 123k in 2 months or remained this so high on the charts for so long. most dropped out of the top 100 within 3 weeks.
Yeah, I thought about that after the fact, they just be fuckin up on this site so much I had to say something. That Adele album still ain’t self titled tho.
Watch The Throne is gonna sell close to 500k first week. JUST WAIT.

Yes we all know its going to sell.. What is the point of your comment?
What is it exactly that Khaled does again? does he rap? does he produce? doe he engineer the album? as a DJ can he even scratch? his music stays on Chicago Radio you would think he would be selling albums apparently not.. CORRECTION. his numbers are at 99 million worldwide , not 80 mill
em kips keeling em all….
Mark my words…
Success is certain, will be a flop….for certain.
Hate to say it but you’re right. None of the songs are necessarily great, and the albums is just shy of having no buzz. What label head thought droppin royce’s album on the same day as Jay and kanye was a smart idea?
I listened to it and as much as I like Royce I got to admit that the album was garbage except for maybe 2 songs. I sounds spur of the moment and rushed. Im not wasting 14 bucks on something I’ll never listen to.
Royce is not popular and his album sucks and he has no hit singles this means his career is over
As long as Royce suckin Shady’s dick his career won’t be over.
How can an album Recovery sell about 4 mil. That album is wack
Because there are at least millions of others that don’t agree with you, obviously.
Because its an album that anyone can really enjoy. Its got the lyrcisim and subject matter that Hip Hop fans want with the beats and choruses that you’re radio listener will enjoy. It’s certainly not classic but its a decent album.
It’s really good from a technical standpoint obviously. The content is still there, just presented with a more radio friendly sound.
Because 4 million people (6 million worldwide) thought it was worth it.
I also agree Eminem is wack and overrated. His voice is so damn annoying, but white people also enjoy rap and hes def the best white rapper ever. If he made those same songs as a black artist he would be nowhere near that in sells. Im not racist even a tiny bit but i honestly feel like thats the truth.
of course you think eminem is overrated. He is white afterall. Black ppl NEVER give him credit.
When ignorant ass rappers (including Jay Z) were rapping about bling and cars and women eminem was making “stan” “the way i am” and “97 bonnie and clyde”.
Of course, most ppl do not appreciate songs with depth, they’d rather hear niggas talking about rims spinning and shit. Eminem would never make the “same songs as a black artist” like you say simply because he is not as artistically bankrupt as those other rappers.
DO you really think eminem would’ve sold if he did songs “Big pimpim” and pretended to be a thug and shit?
Watch the throne is wack as fuck! How can u niggas that support “real hip hop” support that wack ass album?
Where Is Jill Scott, Big Sean and Jay Rocks New Album? C’MON HHDX!
I just paid $24,31 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic GF 1 Camera that we got for $34,26 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $678 which only cost me $68,18 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentSpace.com
i bought an HP TouchPad for $300 from staples.
seriously! and im not even a spambot or anything!
i bought a dime bag of crack for $10 bucks! FOR REAL, not even joking son, NOT A SPAM BOT OR NUNNA DAT
I give a tight Blow Job for $5, no lie, no spam bot, no nothin but sloppy wet blow jobs.
lmao @ QuickJB
It’s funny how some reviewers for watch the throne call Jay-Z and Kanye the biggest artists in hip hop when Eminem’s last album has almost sold both of their last albums combined.
Damn.
thats cause eminem hasnt had a good album since eminem show. that only 3 good albums out of like 10.
too bad he’s actually had its 6 out of 8 5 of those being classics. encore and recovery are ass but dont discount infinite and slim shady ep.
Yeah like jay-z has had good albums. Reasonable doubt and blueprint aside, most of his albums have been bullshit commercial swill. The in my lifetime series were particularly shitty lol. I think ppl just give jay z respect because he is a good businessman. he is a good example to the black community and all that. Eminem has released 7 albums and only two are (arguably anyway) shitty.
Also, what does it have to do with”big” anyway? the biggest artist is the one that has sold the most.
Em is the biggest artist in hip hop and of the last decade
@DS.. i been saying the same shit for years
Coz eminem makes white pop trashes for the teens while Kanye makes real mainstream rap. Eminem has 3 great albums (TSSLP, TMMLP, TES) n 1 good album (Infinite). That’s 4 out of 8.
Kanye meanwhile has 3 great albums (CD, LR, MBDTF) n 2 good albums (Graduation, WTT). That’s 5 out of 6.
Jay’s overrated but he has 5 great albums (RD, BP1, TBA, AG, CC) n 2 good albums (Vol. 2, WTT). That’s 7 out of 14.
N if y’all r talk in bout sales Kanye n Jay have 16 no. 1 albums while em has 6.
@Anonymous
You want to bring sales into this? You are aware that Eminem has sold more albums than any other artist in the last decade right?
You are aware that he is the highest selling rapper of ALL TIME right?
You are aware he has sold 40m records in the US and 86.5m worldwide right?
Btw, i ain’t hating Kanye makes AMAZING albums but as a rapper he sucks ass lol.
Watch the throne was fucking HORRIBLE!! every track is hip pop drake type shit. As a rapper kanye is wack and jay z is alright but his flame is dying out.
Not only eminem, but nelly, and 50 cent sold more albums than jay z in the last decade
Nelly!! LMAO
Collision Course is not a great album it’s good. Vol. 1 is really good tho you should count that it’s one whack song and others are great cuts
Any word on how much Lil Wayne’s “Rebirth” album has sold?
Well, the Wikipedia page only has the sales up to October 31st, 2010 which as of then was 683,000 copies. I’d imagine it’d be platnium by now though…
Why do you ask this on every sales page no one gives a shit, it was a shit fucking album google it fuckhead if you want to fucking know the sales.
683 k is what its sold. It hasn’t gone platinum. I know your a Wayne dick thumper cuz no sane person would even bring up that garbage ass album in conversation unless it was to comment on how horrible it was.
Hell: The Sequel is just shy of a Gold plaque? Wow, I expected it to be platnium by now. Not just because i’m an Em fan either, but I thought it was dope! It kept me interested from start to finish. Even The Re-Up moved 1 mil+., hope Hell gets the sales it deserves!
Are you retarded or what? It’s actually doing really well for a EP that hasn’t had a radio song released yet. You must of expected too much.
Jason… Lighters ain’t a radio song release?? I hear that on the radio all the time in FL.
Who’s big sean?
You mean little Shawn. He’s some wack rapper that kanye put out
Shady 12 Years on Top!!!!!!
No one cares what the Haters say.
Benzino 12 years on the Bottom!!!!!!
No one cares what haters say.
Any album that Royce puts out without Shady on it will flop. Only reason Hell: The Sequel went gold was because shady not Royce
Wow, Tech Nine, you are an absolute monster, dog…120,000 records sold on an independent label. You’ve put in some serious work, my dog, congratulations…You sell more than DJ KHaled hahaha…
LMAO!! Even with a hit single Dj Khaled couldn’t move big numbers.
