Ghostface Killah & Apollo Brown Announce “The Brown Tape” Re-Release

When Ghostface Killah originally made 2013’s Twelve Reasons To Die album with Adrian Younge, he also commissioned producer Apollo Brown for an alternate version of the project. That reworked rendition, The Brown Tape, was briefly released on cassette and other formats before disappearing. Now, Mello Music Group is bringing the project back in 2018.

The 11-track LP is scheduled to be re-released on January 26. The album is narrated by RZA with guest appearances by Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Cappadonna and Killa Sin. Pre-orders are available now on iTunes and Bandcamp.

      1. Apollos version is the Blaxploitation version, Youngs version is the Italian horror version, I dig em both, crazy how the vibe changes based on the production.

    1. That Cd was FIRE!!!! I have the original. And it is/was the CLOSEST thing 2 that CLASSIC Wu-Tang Sound!!! Maybe Apollo Brown should produce the NEXT Wu Project!! Or Him & Ghost need 2 do another Project!!!

    2. Ghost is lazy lyrically on this project. Not even trying. He’s become above reproach for some reason. His fans, mostly white dudes who don’t really know what’s dope and what’s not, just worship everything he does, so he knows he doesn’t even have to try. “Now my life’s played out like some old damn socks”. Cmon son. If you’re not gonna try then let Superb write your rhymes again.

      1. I agree 100%. He does these “concept” albums for a quick check and puts in zero effort. He got outrapped by every single guest feature on that 36 Seasons project. Ghost is burnt out from all that touring. He needs to take a break, recollect his thoughts and let loose on a real solo project, not no corny storybook album

    3. I love the new cover of the album. I must cop this quick. The first version of the album is fire too. WU TANG IS FOREVER MUTHAF*CKERS!
