The Game Reveals Producers For “Documentary 2” & Announces New Release Date

Game’s first edition of The Documentary was both critically acclaimed and sold well. The Compton rapper’s third album helped garner him national attention while placing him as a West Coast savior during the mid-2000s.

While talking to North Carolina’s Power 98 during the 2015 BET Awards, Game announced the producers he’s working with for the album’s sequel. And it’s a laundry list of well-respected beatsmiths who’ve been around Hip Hop for a while.

“It’s a follow up of my first album,” he said when asked about what he’s working on next. “It’s going to be classic. Shoutout to all the producers who helped me with it: Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Swizz Beats, Timbaland, DJ Premier, AlchemistScott Storch.”

The Game also says the album is slated for August but didn’t offer a specific release date. Many of the producers he announced to be on Documentary 2 were on the first.

    1. The next Dr Dre… This fool goona keep pushin his album back….. Been waiting on this since January the original release date…… Year of the Wolf still Goes In……

    2. Wtf hes pushing it back again..well I just hope that new 100 song is not what this album is going to sound like or be on the album

    3. yeah, back then the visions, yeah most of the time i was convinced…. shit, i’d lost it…. but there were other times….. i thought i was mainlining the secret truth of the universe….

    4. Some nikas here who think their opinion matter. Jerk offs. One with dej loaf and drake were dope. August can’t wait

    5. He pushin his album back he really need help on this album, Sorry for him cause 50 won’t be there and his gonna push it again until next year

    6. Game just needs to get back to the doctors advocate days. Having korrupt, snoop, Xzibit and Nas on his cuts and stop with this “who is hot today” features. It takes away from his albums.

    7. Lol @ all the 50 dickridas, surprised yall can breathe with that dick so far down ya throat. This should be a dope album, even if ya hero fiddy snitch aint got no part in it. Shit im happy 50 aint got nothing to do with it, everything he puts out lately is garbage. Nobody wanna hear 50 “sing” no more shitty hooks, shit is boring. This is much more anticipated than any trash from 50.

      1. Nothing From Game or 50 Cent is anticipated in 2015 homie. This sucka got a Drake feature and still couldn’t generate enough Buzz to land a release date. Both Game and %0 Cent album sales combined ain;t gonna add up to 200K, watch and see. Nobody wanna hear shit from either of them anymore.

    8. would have been more exciting if he mentioned mustard, boi1da, 40, mike will made it, kanye etc. the producers were hot 10 years ago. now – they are washed up. only sure thing is dre and premier. rest is hit or miss

    9. This dude never made a classic and never will make an classic. He is a decent rapper with a good ear to pick beats. He has no streetcredbility and a liar and bipolar. A butterfly on your face aint gangsta, to be rejected in TV show change of heart aint gangsta, find a girl in a tv show aint gangsta, dissing jay-z today and saying tomorrow jay-z is cool is a bitch move, sequels are played out, rapping with lil wayne, whiz kalifa, 2chainz, drake aint gangsta

    10. The Game need to be real on this album. I miss the G-Unit days with him and 50 on the album. Songs like “Hate It Or Love It” and “How We Do”. He need features from (Nas, DMX, Nipsey, Snoop, Dre, TDE) I don’t care if half of them is old. Not Young Money, Meek and Dej Loaf. But I guess that’s what sells nowadays

    11. Wow this album is gonna be good with those producers! Its bascially just like the first ppl who helped him out! I wanna hear the timbo song!

    12. top notch production. game always has the lyrics top notch. we’ll see what he puts together. if he has dre helping him in the background, you’ll know. he should’ve had quik on there.

    13. This clown still rapping? A Drake feature? really? Whats next: Young ThuG or Whiz khalifa. Nigga stop rapping and retire. You old and lame just like your big brother 50 cent

    14. Honestly it sounds like he just said that those albums are on the first album and he is just trying to make it seem like he’s got them producing on this one. The game is an ass.

      1. Thats too bad cause that was his worst Album and you missed out severely because “Jesus Piece” and R.E.D Album were way better by far.

    15. most of you on this commenting on this site are straight up losers. how can you see that production list and not be excited? fucking non hip hop loving mf

game stay picking dope ass production

for that reason alone im excited

    16. Every album after The Documentary was fool proof that 50 wrote most of the lyrics for him in the Doc. Game been goin backwards since he dropped his magnum opus (The Doc)

      1. He only wrote the hooks for their singles. Even 50 himself never claimed more than that. Otherwise you’re right, despite not being able to top Documentary Doctor’s Advocate was definitely dope, but Game is on a downhill ever since that. I’m not saying he don’t have moments on his later albums, but the overall quality is getting lower and lower. Jesus Piece was still decent, but that Year of the Wolf turned out to be shockingly weak and cliché.

    17. Fuck Alchemist and Pharrel, other than that it sounds like it’s going to be a good album… Maybe.
