A judge has dropped murder charges against the man accused of shooting and killing G-Unit affiliate Mazaradi Fox. New York publication DNAinfo reports Jamal Scott is to be freed after spending two years in prison on murder charges stemming from Fox’s 2014 death after a key witness was accused of perjury in the case.
A woman who named Scott as the perpetrator in the murder claimed last year that police coerced her into identifying him as the gunman. Rayesha Brockington was injured in the shooting and at first claimed the gunman was wearing a mask before pointing to Scott in a lineup. She says that police threatened to report her to child service’s and take away her children if she did not cooperate in the investigation.
Scott was charged with second degree murder and four counts of attempted murder and felony assault. Three other people, including Brockington were injured in the incident where Scott reportedly pulled up on the party’s SUV and opened fire.
Mazaradi Fox, who was born Jamal Green, was a friend of 50 Cent‘s and appeared in various G-Unit videos, but he was never signed to G-Unit Records.
