This November, Freeway will return with his first studio album on Babygrande Records Diamond in the Ruff. Now, in a recent interview with Babygrande, the Philadelphia rhymer talks about his upcoming project.
Freeway described the album – which finds him reuniting with Philadelphia Freeway partners Just Blaze, Young Guru and Bink! – as “real Hip Hop.” He explained that the album is grounded in his reality and features the likes of Wale and Neef Buck.
“[Fans can expect to hear] electricity, man,” he said. “You know what it is – real Hip Hop. It’s gonna be crazy – Just Blaze, Neef Buck, Bink!, Marsha Ambrosius, Musiq [Soulchild], Wale, Vivian Green – it’s gonna be crazy…I’m a reality rapper, so I rap about things I do, things I go through, so as long as I’m moving around and I’m getting stuff to rap about, it’s gonna keep going.”

Real hip hop doesn’t sell though.
Funny you say that cause good kid m.A.A.d city sold 240,000 its first week.
@PuCho you say funnythat GKMC sold 240k in a week, did Common or Lupe get the type of publicity GKMC got I mean dre backed it, plus usually when dre backs someone they sell quite a few records look at the track record plus “The Believer” and “F&L 2” are very good albums, just like “GKMC” glad to see a good hip hop album come through all this garbage laying around.
stop calling it real hip hop
indie , underground , hardcore or anything else along those lines will do
Lupe flopped. Common flopped. J Cole sold 200,000 in a week then quietly faded. KL might be the exception here, but it will take another few weeks to see if that 240,000 was a true indicator of his drawing power.
freeway liked my pic on instagram. claim to fame yeya lol
the ones who claim their real are usually the fakest
