Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have reunited for their second collaborative project, Alfredo. The 10-track album serves as a follow-up to 2018’s Fetti, their joint tape with Curren$y. Ahead of its release, the seasoned Hip Hop vets have shared a visual for the inaugural single, “1985.”

Directed by Nick Walker, the video places Gibbs and Alchemist — both rocking suits á la Vincent Vega and Jules Winnifield from Pulp Fiction — in the middle of nowhere under several transmission towers. As the visual begins, Gibbs and Alchemist approach each other from opposite sides before shaking hands.

Alchemist whispers something to Gibbs who nods and says, “Yep, once you dip, you don’t trip. Ain’t no coming back from a dip.” From there, Gibbs presents two options for burying a body — “down there” or “over there” — and promises to be “burning niggas’ assholes off all year round.”

Gibbs then explodes into his verses over Alchemist’s dreamy production.

“Quarter thang to a whole thang, whole gang workin’ (Yeah),” he spits. “Hit a bitch with that extended clip or that revolver/Shit’ll serve the same purpose (Bang, bang)/Keep them beamin’ up to Scotty in my crack lobby/I can smell the ‘caine burnin’/Michael Jordan, 1985, bitch, I travel with the cocaine circus/Put them F and Xs on your clowned ass.”

    1. News like this is the only reason I still visit this site. Got some real hiphop caviar dropping at 12am. Get hype.

    2. Can’t wait for this, not the biggest Freddie Gibbs fan but IMO Uncle Al has been doing some of his best work for years recently!!

    3. You Al stick to making the same sounding beat over and over cause your acting skills are below garbage levels

      1. And has more money than you with his same sounding beats and bad acting skills…you forgot that part

    4. Not really Pulp Fiction, but dope video and song nonetheless. Freddie Kane fina give us that raw over Alchemist wizardry ?

    5. They mean casino, that’s where the covering of the mouths comes from with Pesci and his right hand man trying to avoid the feds reading their lips. The project sounds solid though.

    6. Managed to listen to 3 tracks on YouTube b4 it got taken down. It was on sum new rappers account play boi Carti or sumthing

    7. Racist Alan is the owner of hip hop’s beat junkyard. He’s piling up all the trash beats and rappers stop by to salvage whichever beats sound a little decent to them. Too bad it has to be all the great rappers to stop by. With this album as like the 50th collabo album he’s done in the past few years, I think he may have just passed 9th Dumpster for worst, most overrated producer ever.

      1. Thats right, all the greatest rappers want to work with Alchemist because he’s trash. Are you even aware of the nonsense you just typed out?

      1. Wtf you mean boring? He does what a dope rapper does…SPITS DOPE BARS…What else you expect him to do..pull a rabbit out of a hat?

    8. Man can Alchemist make a lively beat to save his life? First Fetti now this. More music to sit in your armchair and pontificate to I guess…

      1. He make head nodding music NOT music to dance to. You don’t need lively music to nod your head.

      2. lol going to alchemist for a “lively” beat is just ridiculous. alchemist is straight hip hop no b.s. he makes smooth instrumentals that are perfect for street lyricists. how you a old head and ain’t know that ? ever heard of Mob Deep ?

      3. “step dad” on Eminem’s album was a terrible song, mostly because of Eminem’s annoying chorus, but it was a more “lively” beat than ALC usually makes. I feel like there have been other exceptions throughout his career. “Back again” by dilated comes to mind. But yeah, that’s kind of just his style. It makes for some dope gangsta rap, way better than trap or mumble rap.

      1. It’s dumb when cats say album of the year as if they listened to EVERY album that dropped so far. You mean it’s the best album you’ve HEARD so far this year. And you do know the years not over yet?

            1. Its very good but his works with madlib are untouchable. And I consider Alfredo better then Fetti but not at Bandana level. Year ago i had no doubt that Bandana will be Aoty, and now this in here is just in my top 5. I am very glad that this project came out

    9. I love Freddie with MADLIB and the alchemist, but I’m ready for hiM to make another project like “Freddie”.
