Freddie Gibbs has had his fair share of beef. Akademiks remains his most notorious nemesis, and the pair have traded shots numerous times online, with Gibbs wanting to box him for charity at one point.
The ESGN rapper and Griselda’s Benny The Butcher currently have some bad blood brewing, and he’s had long-standing squabbles with Gunna and even Lupe Fiasco, among others. On Tuesday (April 6), a fan made a joking comment on Twitter about Gibbs’ seemingly never-ending list of foes.
“Freddie Gibbs be beefing with a new n-gga every month it seem, smh damn n-gga I’m starting to think it’s you bruh,” the user wrote with laughing emoji’s. Gibbs chimed in simply to agree.
“Yep it is me and I don’t give a fuck,” he wrote.
Gibbs’ most recent spat with Benny The Butcher has been picking up steam since the Buffalo lyricist shrugged off their past collaborations in an interview with Most Necessary: Live.
“Working with Freddie Gibbs came and went to be honest with you,” he was quoted as saying, according to Spotify Greenroom’s Twitter. “It’s all love.”
“Came and went lol,” Gibbs wrote in reply before jumping on Instagram to offer a more elaborate response.
“N-gga said ‘working with Freddie Gibbs came and went,’” the Alfredo rapper said to the camera laughing. “I know some other shit that came and went too, n-gga … Just keep my name out y’all mouth, man, when y’all talking to people who are doing interviews and shit. Just say ‘next question, man. I don’t want to talk about that n-gga, man.’ Just say ‘next muthafucking question.’ For real.”
The beef between the two rappers had been brewing for some time. Last September, Gibbs tweeted, “It be hard for me to listen to n-ggaz after they got robbed” right after Benny had been shot in the leg during a robbery attempt in Houston.
Freddie later tweeted, “N-ggaz don’t put the cities they got robbed in on the tour dates” following Benny’s announcement of The Burden of Plugs tour, which featured a show in Austin, Texas but not Houston.
Benny finally replied to the Twitter shade last December, cryptically posting several crying face emojis hours after it was reported Gibbs was allegedly assaulted by Jim Jones at a Miami restaurant. The alleged beatdown was supposedly the result of a longstanding beef between the two rappers.
Him and Game would be perfect for each other.
Agreed, two narcist ego driven people that think they are better and bigger than they really are. Gibb’s better cool it. He doesn’t want beef with Griselda period. If Benny were to get him and Conway on wax going at Gibb’s it would be a rap. Gibb’s family are cops and lawyers. The Griselda boy’s come from the slums. Raised and brought up in situations where you either has to huslte or provide or be another food stamp welfare family. Gibb’s has some great songs but he cannot compete with the pens of Benny and the Machine. Gibb’s talking all that shit about Benny not doing shows in Houston, Why don’t you man up gibb’s and come do a show in Buffalo and see how you make it out of there with all your belongings and not getting shot up. He has always been an internet keyboard warrior.

It’s not working Freddie. this rabbit thing. the pop up coffee shop. none of it. acting will probably be better for you. Alfredo was ok but slow and boring. The BFK and ESGN days was when you were in your prime.
This might be the dumbest statement I’ve read today. Saying BFK and ESGN are better than stuff like the Madlib collab albums and “Freddie” shows you haven’t been listening to rap for the last 10 years. That “Rabbit thing” is his set, which he’s been saying on songs since the beginning. Its not 2012 anymore man.
His work with DJ Burn One was his best
Damn it Freddie. Get your act right. Get off Twitter.
Freddie Gibbs a weirdo, just like his character in Power Book 4.
Once the critical acclaim came, he switched up a little. Has acting chops but leave the social media shit alone. Then again, he could be a few antics off generational wealth for his kids. Just wished he cooled it a little but, branding I suppose.
