Fabolous and Ice-T have given their honest feedback about the state of the current generation and the criminal activity they boast about both on social media and in real life.

Fab took to Instagram in a now-deleted story on the fourth of July holiday to inquire about where could he get a plate of BBQ from.

He then gave his opinion on why it’s difficult for the newer generation to come together and continue holiday traditions from yesteryear.

“This generation don’t wanna do nothing but TWERK, SMOKE HOOKAH, SCAM, Be on INSTAGRAM, HAVE OPPS, SHOOT PEOPLE, GO VIRAL, TAKE DRUGS, FUCK SOMEONE ELSE MAN OR GIRL, & TALK ABOUT PEOPLE [laughing emoji],” Fabolous said. “WHAT HAPPEN TO THE GOOD VIBES???”

Ice-T’s critique came during last weekend’s Essence Festival after being asked to comment on the state of Hip Hop with it being the 50th anniversary of the music genre.

“I think people from my generation are really upset with what’s going on with the youngsters because every week somebody’s going to jail,” the West Coast rap legend said (via PEOPLE). People are dying off drugs, killing each other.” My generation, we lost 2Pac, we lost Biggie and we got the memo. Everybody calmed down. We all figured this out: We were rapping to get out of the streets.”

He continued: “But the youngsters who are out here behaving like that, these kids are millionaires so I don’t know how many young people gotta get lost, I don’t know which one might trigger that message, but I think it’s time for this generation to get a hold of itself.”

While both rappers openly condemned the young generation for their behavior, they too have also found themselves under the scope of personal turmoil throughout their careers.

Back in 2019, Fabolous accepted a plea deal in the alleged domestic assault of his then-girlfriend Emily B. Fab was accused of punching Emily’s teeth out during an argument in March 2018. A few weeks later, Fab allegedly threatened to shoot Emily and her father while brandishing a pair of scissors.

As a result of the previous incident, Fab was charged with four felonies, including aggravated assault of a domestic violence victim. If convicted, he would have faced up to 20 years in prison.

Meanwhile, Ice-T spoke to HipHopDX in 2021 regarding how difficult it was to land commercial ad deals at the time because of his controversial 1992 single “Cop Killer” being a reference point for corporations.

“It was difficult because I’m the cop killer,” he said previously. “Everybody in the mainstream was like, ‘They won’t fuck with you because you’re too taboo.’ And I was like, ‘Right.’ And then Snoop started knocking down walls. That’s my brother. So Snoop was going through doors and I’m like, ‘Look, Snoop’s making it through these doors, let’s try.'”

He continued: “So the first big one I got was the GEICO commercial with the lemonade. The advertising world was watching and there was no blowback. From there, I did RXBARs, CarShield. You see, people don’t understand but if you look at Shaq, like the one he does for The General, that could be eight to $10million a year. The numbers aren’t bullshit. You know that bitch Flo from Progressive? Trust me, she lives in a mansion. Flo is caked out.”
