Ex-Drake Collaborator iLoveMakonnen Drops PSA On Lil Nas X’s Buzz: ‘I Started This Gay Shit’

iLoveMakonnen has been laying low for the most part but one of his tweets from Monday night (November 8) broke through and went viral. The “Tuesday” artist jokingly proclaimed that he started “this gay shit” in music.

“I started this gay shit,” he wrote.

The tweet has compiled over 18,000 likes and got a rile out of fans who flooded his replies with memes and photos ranging from Lil Nas X to Soulja Boy looking for confirmation and an angry Boosie Badazz.

“You walked so Lil Nas X could run,” one person responded.

iLoveMakonnen broke through in 2014 with his signature hit “Tuesday” featuring a guest appearance from Drake which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. He later came out as openly gay in early 2017.

On October 29, Makonnen unleashed his Monster in the Woods EP boasting six tracks. He also delivered his My Parade album in April where he recruited Payday and Lil B to help power the effort.

The 32-year-old admitted that him being on Twitter while on mushrooms may have not been the best idea as he continued to rant.

“Shouts out to all my gays , I love u I see u and I am with u,” Makonnen said. “Im always with u, I wouldn’t be who I am today without u. Know that trust and believe anything is possible! I am sending u love love love!”

      1. Puff Daddy is the first actually. Big Shiny suits. Always dancing and hugging other men. Seems to never smile around females. C’mon now you can’t forget about the originator of all this fruity sh*t who also happened to cheer Lil Nas X on for doing what he’s doing in music.

    1. Shout out to the gays. They have officially taken over. I won’t listen to anything after 1999 from rap.

    2. Yeah…. Kevin Abstract was the first one actually in 2016…. but even he wasn’t as over the top gay like Lil Nas X which is probably why nobody remembers him.

      1. Here’s go the guy in every post talking about Kanye genitals lol. You’re clearly obsessed man probably still beating off to Ye pics in your moms basement

    3. There were a few years of hype around queer hop in the early 2010s. Le1f, Zebra Katz and them. Actually they made pretty interesting hiphop music. Not necessarily my cup of tea but they were progressive, artistic and mainly hiphop. Lil Nas X is not hiphop. He’s a really wack pop star for no brainers. I liked some songs from Makonnen tho.

    4. Hip hop has been gay for years. Diamonds are are a girl’s best friend. A “handbag” is just a purse. The worship of name brand clothes and cars seems very feminine. Sagging is prison code for gay. Rappers strangely overcompensating through homophobia and continuous claims of having sex with random men’s wives. The expressions “pause” and “no homo”…It all seems kind of gay really
