JAY-Z rang in the final year of his 40s on Tuesday (December 4) in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he headlined the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 concert alongside artists like Pharrell — which helped garner pledges of over $7.1 billion to end extreme poverty. Proud parent (and grandparent) Ms. Tina Knowles, who joined the couple on the trip, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt birthday message to her son-in-law.
“A very Happy Birthday to my amazingly talented, super smart, gracious, classy, filled with swag son in law,” she wrote. “I could not be more happy to have you in my family and could not be more happy to be in yours,” she continued, adding that his mother and grandmother “did great.”
Tina has long been publicly supportive of Jay, from making statements to the press to shut down the rumor of relationship problems with Bey, or sounding off on the Grammy‘s after Jigga walked away empty-handed in 2017.
“You have done so much for our Culture, Thank you for that,” she said, ending her message by adding “I have watched you grow personally in leaps and bounds … you are an incredible husband and the best Father!”

When a woman in a blonde wig is making an album about black power, you should question it. If she (as well as her husband) only started talking about race relations when it became “woke” to do so, another alarm should go off (provided you were educated and/or intelligent). Furthermore (which means also), if hey use their infidelity to try and sell records, you should realize that their marriage is a sham and they’re using their “relationship” to sell records. Finally, if an artist talks about being independent till she’s blue in the face then goes running back to the man who cheated on her, it should make you question her sincerity. This is exactly what im talking about, smoke and mirrors. Jay-z donated exactly $6,431 to the Shawn Carter foundation. He talked a good game but when it came time to pony up cash he fell short. The reason Beyoncé’ gave to Haiti was to clean up her image after receiving money from a Libyan dictator (an absolute monster) named Muammar Gadaffi. The Sean Bell donation is to get a ton of publicity for a relatively small donation. These people are nothing but opportunists.

How exactly are they helping your people? They embody commercialism, narcissism and opportunism. After so much pain and struggle are those the role models, are those the values you want your people to uphold. An ex drug dealer, a confirmed cheater, a man that name drops labels every few bars. A woman who eschews her natural hair to look like a black Barbie, a woman who dances around in her underwear. How can that ever help anyone?
Let’s start with the fact that S.Carter and the Carter foundation is helping and has helped dozens of people in the criminal justice system that was wrongly convicted (which also provided attorneys and bail money) , also- let’s not forget them donating millions to Haiti when the earthquake hit, let’s not forget the sean Bell trust fund ( the man that was killed by NYPD) which will take care of the children of Sean Bell, let’s not forget the Shawn Carter Foundation that gives scholarships to people in disadvantaged areas, let’s not forget Beyonce giving 7 million to the houston homeless to keep the complex afloat, the millions she sent to Nepal after their earthquake; I mean , the question is… What aren’t they doing? They have amassed a lot of wealth, yes- but they have managed to organically help people in need across the world as well as here in the states while developing businesses and mandating that people of color run them. My question is, what have you done? Have you even helped at a homeless shelter? Have you assisted in a battered woman’s shelter? Rehab shelter? Special needs summer camp? I have.
