Eminem’s ‘The Death Of Slim Shady’ Surpasses 1 Billion Streams Following Grammy Nod

Eminem‘s Grammy-nominated album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) has officially surpassed one million streams on Spotify following its release in July.

According to an updated tally from KWORB released on Thursday (November 21), the LP now sits at 1.3 million streams on the platform.

The effort is up for Best Rap Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards, while its lead single “Houdini” is also up for Best Rap Performance and Best Music Video.

It’s been a big year for Em, who was also recently named among 26 nominees for the 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF).

A songwriter becomes eligible for induction 20 years after their first major commercial song release.

The winners will be inducted at the 2025 Induction & Awards Gala, going down on June 12 in New York City. In naming their nominees, the SHOF listed five songs, but noted they “are merely a representative sample of their extensive catalogs.”

For Em, they named “Lose Yourself,” “Stan,” “Mockingbird,” “Houdini” and “Rap God.” Voting by eligible members will go through midnight ET on December 22.

In other news, Eminem has reportedly popped up in front of the camera for a surprising reason — a cameo in Adam Sandler’s upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel.

The U.S. Sun reported last week that a “source” informed them Marshall Mathers had traveled to New Jersey to shoot some scenes for the film on November 6.

“Em is a big fan of the original movie, and he was a total pleasure to work with. He was just super low key, he didn’t have a big entourage, and was just an absolute delight on set,” the anonymous source said.

The source continued, saying that the Rap God had “good comedic acting skills.”

“He’s playing a comedic role and he really had fun with it,” they said.

If the Sun is correct, Em won’t be the only rapper in Happy Gilmore 2. Kid Cudi has been tapped to star in the flick as well.

    1. These dudes hate on Em so much that they can’t even type “billion” in the article. Their wack ass review was so tone deaf it’s not even funny. All the media have their “nobody listens to Eminem” POV but Big Boy and other real hip hop voices acknowledge his greatness and the greatness of this album (some skips but overall amazing). It’s been over 20 years since Hov said “only dudes moving units is Em, pimp juice, and us” and he’s still doing it.

      1. Whilst I agree TDOSL wasn’t perfect and had some issues, this site had the worst attempt at a review I have ever seen. I’m not even talking about whether the album was good or bad, or if you like Eminem or not. I mean the quality of the review itself was atrocious. It came off like a teen girl on Tumblr throwing a tantrum. The Joyner Lucas review was somehow magnitudes worse than that. If this is the quality standards they have then maybe just stop doing reviews and editorials. Just report what’s going on instead. The only reason I still come here is to find new music. Their musical tastes are utter dog vomit.

    2. They just hated the album because he bashed on trannys. And this site has nothin but they/thems working for them

    3. ems music is corny, can’t bump it anywhere but in a dark corner of a bedroom. music is more than stacking rhyme schemes, all his albums after 8 mile soundtrack have been wack except the joint he did with royce and that was mainly because of royce

    4. The issue with Eminem is he wants to remain popular so bad he is still making music for teenagers. The new album was cool…nothing more or less.
