Royce Da 5’9 and The Alchemist are among Eminem’s closest friends, so it was only a matter of time before Slim Shady congratulated both his fellow Detroit native and longtime tour DJ for their recent Grammy nominations.
On Tuesday (November 24), a few hours after the Recording Academy unveiled the list, the Music To Be Murdered By architect showed some love to Nickle Nine on Twitter — while cleverly dissing the Grammys in the process.
“So happy for @Royceda59 and @Alchmiest on their Grammy rap album of the year noms!” he wrote. “Seems like @RecordingAcad might be starting to get it right.”
As Shady pointed out, Royce was nominated in the Best Rap Album category for The Allegory, which he dropped in February. Serving as Nickle’s eight studio album, the project featured 22 tracks and guest verses from Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher and KXNG Crooked, among others.
Meanwhile, Alchemist was nominated in the same category for his collaborative album with Freddie Gibbs, Alfredo. The compact, 10-track project was released in May and also featured Griselda members Benny and Conway but Rick Ross and Tyler, The Creator as well.
Other nominees in the Best Rap Album category are D Smoke’s Black Habits, Nas’ King’s Disease and Jay Electronica’s A Written Testimony.

Eminem has consistently promoted Alchemist and Royce whenever they have something new on the horizon. More recently, Em fired off a tweet encouraging his 22.8 million Twitter followers to buy Alchemist’s latest album, The Food Villain, something not lost on Westside Gunn.
The Buffalo MC, who had a distribution deal with Em’s Shady Records, was noticeably annoyed by the lack of support his album Who Made The Sunshine received from Shady and his camp. Not long after, he told Joe Budden he’d left Shady and was no longer affiliated with the imprint.
The 63rd Annual Grammy Award ceremony takes place on January 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Find the nominees here.

He’s won like 30 Grammys, but thinks the Academy has had it wrong all this time.
Funny how he congratulated Alchemist but not Freddie Gibbs. Little known fact, Gibbs was on Interscope back in 2006 and publicly said that he wanted to be on Shady Records but Eminem was only signing losers or something to that effect. Then around 2011, Jeezy got a few Eminem beats for his TM103 album and put Gibbs on one of them (you can still find the song on Youtube but I forgot what it was called), and it was assumed that the reason none of those songs made the album is because Em got mad that Gibbs was put on the song because he had bad mouthed Shady Records in the past. I know way too much obscure rap trivia.
But he listens to the album, so he is probably not really against Gibbs.

Don’t really see that as a diss. This is the first time in a long time you can’t really dispute any of the nominees for Best Rap Album. Eminem was deserving of all his Grammy’s, but largely because they got the other nominees wrong. And I have Em top 5-6.

I’ve come to the conclusion this website purposely mis reports on eminem to piss off the stans… if you know eminems history with the grammys… he is legitimately paying them a compliment… its like the nick cannon articles. Everyone said that eminem dissed nick out of nowhere and on every article some one commented asking them to fact check and fix it, because nick dissed em first 3 times over… but nope, gotta make those stans angry some how…
