Eminem has put his fans on alert for an impending celebration. Slim Shady shared a teaser for the 10th anniversary of his Recovery album via social media, promising to have more information on Monday (June 22).
“‘Music is my time machine,'” he wrote on Instagram. “#RECOVERY10 more coming Monday!
Last month, Eminem commemorated the 20th anniversary of The Marshall Mathers LP by participating in a live chat with fans. He previously spent much of the past year basking in the 20th anniversary of The Slim Shady LP.
Over the course of 2019, The Slim Shady LP was digitally re-released with bonus tracks, reissued on CD/vinyl and paid tribute to with multiple merchandise drops. Eminem’s official website also hosted interviews with artist SKAM2? and photographer Danny Hasting about their experiences working with the diamond-selling rapper.
Eminem’s Recovery was released on June 18, 2010 via Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 after selling 741,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The LP included singles such as “Not Afraid” and the Rihanna-assisted “Love The Way You Lie.”
The project was eventually certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2011. That same year, it won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
Revisit Recovery below.
The Muthafuckin GOAT!!
I think Recovery is a classic rap album and one of the best in Em’s discography. The smash hits were great, but lots of great deep cuts, too. Spacebound has a special place in my heart
Smash? This album was the begin of the end of Eminem with the pop sound and yelling flows voice rap. Literally no one or in the hip hop community heard saying this was a strong album let alone classic. The beats were horrible as well. I do like that Ridaz track and beat sadly it was a not on the album. His first 4 releases were definitely better.
Album was awesome.
Definitely agree with this. This and the next couple of albums included too much pop, which contradicts his raps about pop stars lol.
I agree. I never got into this Eminem. At least this was better than Relapse though. There was real lack of substance and a whole lot of whining on this album, which I guess is better than dreaming about raping celebrities and trying to be a psycho killer at 3am.
For me, he kind of ended after TES and 8-Mile and didn’t come back until MMLP2, Revival was wack and he has been back ever since Kamikaze.
On the other hand, I do feel I should give the album a fresh listen and maybe reevaluate.
RECOVERY was ABSOLUTE GARBAGE & marked the begining of Marshall’s ERA of creating GARBAGE ALBUMS that only get worse & worse with every consecutive album, ICE CUBE is a milli times Better than Marshall, and DMX, and XZIBIT !!!!!!!!
Here goes this white motherfucker promoting his music again. Fuck off eminem u racist pos. How about u speak about ur pedo son chris?? Fuck off.
U are an idiot. How about we track your IP address and beat U to the ground?
LMAOOOOO please find where this dumbass retard lives so we can fucking beat his stupid ass
I bet youve never been in a fight in your life. Beat me? The only thing you can beat is your little white dick. Fuck outta here little boy.
Hahahaha, you really got your feelings hurt over something that has nothing to do with you. Hahahahahahahahaha. Track his ip?? Hahahahahahahahaha
Fuck off you white piece of shit. Awwe whats wrong? U cant handle the fact that noone wants anything to do with white people or feminem anymore. Track my ip? U just showed everyone here how young you are! Go home little white boy.
Recovery is an Above Average album at best. The start of Em’s downfall and losing his Hip-Hop routes. He deadass made LTWYL ffs man & fck his teenage fans that have sex with this album. He really screwed his career throughout the last decade.
One of the best albums of the 2010s.
People rag on Recovery because it’s trendy, there isn’t really any consistent arguments. His flow was a good mix of skill and accessibility, his metaphors and wordplay were starting to become more complex and the beats were more varied and polished. And if you’re going to slap someone down for making pop songs to be release as singles…. Welcome to music, is it your first time here? All your non-underground favourites have songs intended to move units. In my opinion, Recovery is probably his most well rounded album. It has the best balance between old and new Em.
Well your opinion from start to finish is wrong.
fuck this paedo
All you fuck heads are nothing but hating talkin shit who can never ever do what this guys does, give him his props,he done do features with some of y’all fav artists and he done murder them point blank so I dont know what y’all talking about
Bunch of butthurt people in here lol Still mad the white boy not only has outsold your fav artist, but that he is regarded as one of the greatest rappers alive – as told by his own peers. Which pretty much puts your opinion in the trash! Y’all are ready for him to flop but he keeps putting out hit after hit. Get over it, move on in your pathetic lives. This is a great album and nothing you say is going to change that.
Kendrick, tech 9, black thought, jay-z , joynar, logic, busts, red man,lil wayne and so on,these are great lyricists ,some of the best in the game who done make songs with Em,how many of them did destroy Em in those tracks, its the other way round,I done listen to the Em and black thought joint in music to be murdered by again and again,Em was super dope in that track,he’s well rounded in every elements of rap
If the game says it’s a classic album ,than it’s a classic. The game is a well respected artist.
The albums inspiring, not a classic but what other rapper could openly admit they are sober and pull off a pretty damn good album? It was a new chapter in his career and his life. My favorite track: no love
I wish I could blow my dick all by myself. I would drink it faster than a baby its milk
