Eminem Flexes His Production Skills On KXNG Crooked’s Family Bvsiness Track ‘Skip This Ad’

KXNG Crooked and Eminem are undeniably tight — not only was his former group Slaughterhouse signed to Shady Records, but Crooked is also one of the few people Eminem trusts to sit down with for an interview, as evidenced by his 2020 appearance on Crook’s Corner.

On Thursday (January 14), Slim Shady retweeted a post from Shady Records hyping Crooked’s Family Bvsiness track “Skip This Ad,” which Eminem produced. The post came with a link to the new black-and-white visual directed by Eric “Ptah” Herbert.

“Ill when I regulate, real when I educate,” the caption reads. “Video out now for @CrookedIntriago’s #FamilyBvsiness track #SkipThisAd, produced by @Eminem.”

Comprised of Crooked and the Horseshoe Gang, Family Bvsiness is a group of all blood brothers who grew up on a foundation of Hip Hop — hence their moniker. The rap supergroup has released numerous projects since 2018, including Family Bvsiness (The Introduction), Fresh Ink, Lose My Way, It’s Alright (produced by Mr Porter), LLC, The Freestyles, Grand Opening, My Lady and Welcome To California.

While Shady is primarily renowned for his rhyming prowess, he’s stacked extensive production credits during the course of his fruitful career. From D12’s 1999 hit “Purple Pills” to the 2012 Slaughterhouse cut “My Life,” he’s put his fingerprint on countless tracks since emerging in the late ’90s.

He’s also produced or co-produced several of his biggest songs, including “Guilty Conscience” from 1999’s The Slim Shady LP and the Academy Award-winning “Lose Yourself” from 2002’s Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture 8 Mile.

KXNG Crooked Reacts To Eminem's Ultimate Co-Sign

In terms of Crooked and Em, it was a no-brainer to link up for “Skip This Ad” as they’ve done multiple times in the past. Last May, Shady was asked who he thought the most underrated rapper is during a live chat with his fans and he replied Crooked. Upon hearing about the ultimate co-sign, Crooked told HipHopDX, “That means a lot coming from a Jedi man. I’m grateful for his willingness to speak positive things about me in public because he doesn’t have to. I guess sometimes it takes a master to recognize another one. Thanks for showing me because I know to thank him now.”

      1. Idk thats actually a really hard one to figure. He hasn’t really been known for his production but he definitely has a knack for making a certain sound. The best case for him being on the list would have to be his production credits, he made a few classics for sure.

      1. Em has been producing classic songs since the beginning of his career. He’s regarded as one of the most slept on producers by a lot of people.

    1. This is def on the high end of the spectrum re: eminems beats…

The bars are legit all thru – that MJ/Em-Jay renegade line is dope af

    2. That was actually quite dope. Em beats are trash in general but that one was solid. Dudes definitely can spit. I enjoyed that more than any Em track the last decade or so.

      1. You obviously don’t know what you talking about and it would be a complete waste of time telling you otherwise. You a hater ?

      2. See mane those beats good enough we focus bars than Beats rapper now a days be focusing on beats more than lyrics
“Hip Hop died when beats became more important than lyrics.” remember this

    3. Em, I know you prolly hear this everyday, but I’m ya biggest STAN. lol and I absolutely know when my favorite rapper has a silent feature on a song producing the beat. I mean come on!? The man came up under THE 5?GENERAL “DOC MUTHAFUCKIN’ DRE”. Of course hes gonna be a good at making beats when The Best Rapper to breath on the mic is in the studio watching the Beat Producer to beat on a mpc.
