Eminem Fans Claim He’s Subbing Snoop Dogg In ‘Tone Deaf’ Video

Eminem unleashed an animated lyric video for the Music To Be Murdered By track “Tone Deaf” on Friday (March 5), shortly after several Gen Z’ers tried to “cancel” him on TikTok for his controversial “Love The Way You Lie” lyrics. Once millennials caught wind of the attempt though, it was an all-out social media war as those raised on Slim Shady came to his defense.

Now, Shady fans are propelling a theory about the video itself. On Saturday (March 6), an Eminem fan Twitter account pointed out a building in the visual that has a dog’s face with a red slash through it and suggested it was a sub aimed at Snoop Dogg.

The two Hip Hop titans were involved in a lightweight “beef” earlier this year, which the D-O-Double-G suggested was blown out of proportion. But apparently, Shady fans aren’t so sure.

It all started in July 2020 when Snoop appeared on an episode of The Breakfast Club. During the conversation, he casually claimed the diamond-selling rapper wasn’t in his Top 10.

“[Dr. Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position to where he could be one of the Top 10 rappers ever,” he said at the time. “I don’t think so, but the game feels like he’s Top 10 lyricists and all that that comes with it. But that’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find.”

In retaliation, Em threw a slight jab in Snoop’s direction on the MTBMB: Side B track “Zeus” in which he raps, “As far as squashing beef I’m used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I’m tryin’ to be/Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me/Man, Dogg, you was like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had dog backwards.”

KXNG Crooked Fears Snoop Dogg Vs. Eminem Could Become Most 'Polarizing Beef Ever In Hip Hop'

Although Snoop deemed the line “soft ass shit,” the situation never escalated, which was likely a relief to KXNG Crooked who feared the situation could’ve evolved into the “most polarizing beef ever in Hip Hop.”

Shady explained why Snoop’s initial commentary bothered him during a special New Year’s Eve interview with SiriusXM host Gray Rizzy.

“Everything he said, by the way, was fine, up to a point,” Em said. “Him saying I’m not in his Top 10 because there are some rappers in the ’90s I can’t fuck with. A: Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that? Would I be here without Dre? Fuck no, I wouldn’t. The rappers he mentioned from the ‘90s — KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, [Kool] G Rap — I’ve never said I could fuck with them. I never said that.”

He added, “I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard ’cause I’m like, where is this coming from? I just saw you, what the fuck? It threw me for a loop. Again, I probably could’ve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that shit.’ Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard. I wasn’t ready for that.”

    1. It wasn’t a Twitter observer. Look at the handle. Accounts like these are subsidiaries for the artists to throw some stuff out to the public. Of course it’s shade and Em wanted fans to know it. I can’t fathom why anybody else would spend time to discover stuff like this unless they’re a lonesome loser with no life, or part of the PR team. Think people. Who are the “tweets” that catch stuff to spread around? Paid individuals.

      1. Em doesn’t do subliminal disses. If he wanted to call Snoop out, he’d do it, like he did on Zeus

        1. I’ll be honest Machine Gun Kelly did a better diss about EM then EM could ever do to anyone. He’s not good at it. He’s not a Eazy E or a Ice Cube the Kings of diss.

    2. !00% Honestly. I highly doubt Eminem even noticed that ish was on the video… dumb as way to re-ignite an unnecessary beef

    3. Hang it up Em. You had your time its over. You are not part of the culture, never been to all star weekend.

    4. Wow, only Eminem can take diss bars that look like they were written by a third grader and turn them into real hip hop godlike bars. Eminem da GOAT!

    5. Thank you Eminem, time to get rid of these weak ass rappers like Snoop, you own the Rap game for 26 years now, no one can challenge you, the 50s, Jahs, Xs, Jigga, Drakes, Wayne’s and Co all came and went, and you still here.
You Don’t hip hop music black fans to exist, you own this, you are bigger than hip hop!
