A drunken Obie Trice was reportedly arrested in the Detroit suburb of Commerce Township, Michigan early Friday morning (December 6). According to Local 4 Detroit, a neighbor heard what sounded like an argument coming from his home and called the police.
When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke to the Eminem affiliate and a woman living in the house. The woman’s 18-year-old son jumped in the middle of the argument, a gun went off and the son was shot in the groin area. He then drove himself to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.
The 42-year-old rap vet was booked in a Oakland County, Michigan jail on two charges, including aggravated felony assault of a family member with a gun and contempt of court for violating a protective order.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement to the press, explaining exactly what happened.
“Deputies approached the residence and observed a male subject exiting the front door, holding a pistol in his right hand. Deputies ordered the subject to drop the weapon and to lie down on the ground.
Police said that there had been a physical altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend who reside together at the residence. The boyfriend had allegedly been drinking all day pushed the girlfriend during the argument. The son of the female involved then intervened and confronted his mother’s boyfriend and a physical altercation ensued inside the house. The son and mother decided to leave the home. The boyfriend then went into his bedroom, retrieved a handgun and came back to the garage where the son was standing about to get in the car with his mother to leave the home. The son observed the firearm in the boyfriend’s hand and feared he was going to be shot so he attempted to disarm him. They struggled over the gun and both went to the ground. The firearm discharged and the son was struck in the groin area.
The victim’s mother transported her son to Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield. He suffered a through and through gunshot wound to the groin area that exited near the buttocks. A 9mm semi-auto Ruger was the weapon and an empty shell casing was recovered in the driveway.”
Obie’s bail is currently set at $16,900.

This dude came to Chicago to play a show and was so hung up on some hate-filled speech that it totally buzzkilled the night for everyone. I wasn’t triggered whatsoever but it ruined what could’ve been a dope Saturday night, he brought out a really negative vibe. Because of that we had to bail and I was a huge fan.It got ugly and the crowd was yelling shit back and he was yelling at the crowd. It was a mess and he only played a few songs off his shit and just drank the whole time with his DJ. Damn.
I was there too. His set started way later then it should have and it was an overall sloppy/awkward performance. At one point he started talking about how doctors cut his mother’s tittie off. I hope he saved most his fortune because he’s headed toward being a nobody soon.
