Eazy-E Documentary Kickstarter Relaunches After Raising Only $2,805

Despite the success of the Straight Outta Compton biopic on N.W.A, a Kickstarter created to raise funds for a documentary on the late Eazy-E, has failed.

The Kickstarter for A Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies, which was created by Eazy-E’s daughter Ebie Wright, hit the net in mid-September with a financial goal of $250,000.

Following a month of fundraising, the Kickstarter was only able to bring in $2,805 with the help of 63 backers.

With the first Kickstarter campaign now over, Wright has created a second fundraiser for the documentary. This time, the goal is only $100,000.

Thanks to an end date of December 14, the fundraiser will also benefit from an extended fundraising period. So far, the second Kickstarter has raised a little over $1,000.

According to the Kickstarter, Erica Wright is set to direct A Ruthless Scandal, with Tracy Jernagin serving as producer.

Last year, during an interview with DatzHott, Wright described the forthcoming documentary as “jaw-dropping.”

“I’m pretty much gonna touch on every little thing that people wanna know about and things that people don’t even know that they wanna know about yet,” she said. “It’s gonna be very jaw-dropping.”

      1. Not so much about her, but the legacy and story of Eazy, you guys are kinda being a little immature. I can see if this girl was a hood
rat like Azelia Banks or something but she has done nothing but carry her self with class and shown professionalism.

          1. Yea but a lot of people that were are close to her, Including execs from Ruthless, priority, and Relativity records. She is even close to the people that grew up with him the ones that were around during his drug dealing days and her mom has worked in the Industry since the 80’s. So I’m assuming she knows just as much as a dre or cube, especially cube he was only around like 2-3 years.

    1. I had no clue she was doing a kickstarter for this I’m a huge Eazy and Bone fan, I’m to broke to donate but I really hope she can reach her goal

    2. This story needs to be told, I do think their are people out there that are going to want to secretly blocked this (DRE, CUBE)

      1. Agreed, because so far to this point it we have only gotten one side to this story from a mainstream perspective, well 2 if you count Michelle story. But we need to hear from people that are not benefits of cube and dr dre money bc of course their stories are going to be more in line with Dre’s and Cube’s.

    3. People talking about Surviving Compton was a lot of B.S should know that Straight out of Compton was a lot of B.S also. They act like Eazy introduced jerry to everybody, Eazy was the last one to even know Jerry, Cube and dre already knew him when they were with their previous groups. Also everybody knows Eazy was a dope dealer, so you mean to tell me in the mid 80’s in Compton Cali, Eazy is going to walk into a drug deal with no pistol lol, it was known that he kept a gun on him at all times before the fame and after. Ice cube try to play himself as a victim, Jerry was stealing money from Cube he just wasn’t going to get what he thought he deserved, So he started making up lies about Jerry stealing money from him, he used it as pub and to go solo, is which what he wanted all along anyway

    4. Noody cares yo! Eazy died 21 years ago, time to move on, he wasn’t even the greatest rapper, mediocre at best, plus Cube wrote all his rhymes.

      1. Yea but Eazy was the boss though. Eazy is just as Important to Rap Hip hop as anyone. Cube didn’t write all his Rhymes actually Ren wrote more than cube, Ren and Cube also wrote for dre. I would rather be known for being one to the great business men than being remember as the greatest rapper.

    5. Their should be some rappers and athletes chip in I would figure. I am shocked that she only got 2k last time,it should at least be
like 3-4 people that she has contact with that should be able to give her like 2k a piece.

    6. She is just trying to tell her dad story it’s one of the most unique stories in hiphop, Eazy is a guy that went from dealing, to putting 200k of drug money into a label that spun the careers of Dr dre, Snoop, Bone Thugs, MC Ren, Will I am, Eminem, 50 cent, Ice Cube, The Game, Kokane, Above the Law. Their is a huge chance the East vs West beef would have never happened if Eazy was alive, because he was diplomatic, he was highly respected on the streets and in the Industry.
