After speculation regarding a feud between Common and Drake, Drizzy’s producer has decided to enter the conversation. In a series of posts about the Chicago emcee, 40 claimed he is a fan of Common but added that he was “called a bitch” for listening to Com’s music. He also said he had to argue with others who claimed Common wasn’t “Hip Hop.”
40’s comments came on the same day that Common confirmed that “Sweet” was aimed for Drake. On the track, Com calls artists out for singing and being “soft.”
40 also said he did not intend these messages to be read as disses towards Common.

My verdict: While it might have been true that Common’s music being regarded as truly rap/hip-hop was questionable in his earlier days, but I believe that was solely due to Hip-Hop at the time having a much harder edge to it, I mean 50 got at Ja and used the fact that Ja’s music was soft because of it’s rnb elements (hooks) to end his career, among other things. Nowdays hip-hop can’t avoid a hook from an RnB singer, atleast if you want radio play. And it’s become so common, that no one cares anymore, you’re a washed up old has been or a hating lil nigga if you complain about it.

Common is one of my favorites, but that was a good clean comeback by 40, backin up his boy. I’m not into all that singing on drakes album, but maybe a third of those songs really banged with some crazy bass. That 40’s got some talent.
