Drake’s Incredible 8-Year Hot 100 Streak Ends

Drake’s unprecedented chart run has come to an end.

Tuesday (August 15), the Twitter account for Chart Data, a website and social media channel offering up music news and stats, revealed that a years-long streak for Drizzy has officially ended.

“Drake is not present on the Hot 100 for the first time since his debut (5/23/09), ending a 430 week streak of continuous charting,” Chart Data tweeted Tuesday morning.

Drake appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight straight years, starting with his Grammy-nominated single, “Best I Ever Had.”

The one-man hit parade holds the record for the solo artist with the most career entries into the Hot 100, and also set a new bar when More Life helped him get 24 songs on the chart at the same time.

In 2016, he also tied Michael Jackson and The Monkees in the #2 spot for most consecutive weeks at the top of the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 albums chart.

    1. unmatched work ethic! Now his city his on – Toronto has one of the hottest scenes and it’s thx to drake

      1. Work ethic? This guy has like 7 labels behind him! If you ask yourself what type of work an emcee does (Rap, Produce, Write, master) and ask yourself what drake does for his music, you will see very quickly the amount of work he does compared to other people in the game is very very very VERY low.

        1. Who are you comparing drake to? How many mainstream artists from this era Master their own music??? Im hearing the crickets

    2. His still one of the better rappers out there but his buzz has been declining steady.
More life came out not so long ago and none of its song’s are on the top 100? What?

      1. I mean it’s respectable that he can keep people dick riding him for so long (sorry for the passive aggression it’s obviously a big accomplishment I just hate drake) but being on the top 100 has no reflection on the quality of music you make sooo do I still think drake sucks? Yeaaaa but maybe you don’t

        1. Yeah but “quality of music” is subjective so really you’re just stating an opinion. Hot 100 is objective, it’s a fact accumulated off statistics. It’s like saying “I feel rich” when you only have $1.

    3. and thats what happens when you go head to head with meek, might take a while, but dude will use his power and clout to knock you off that top 100 in due time. drake take this L and have a seat

    4. Let’s see Kenwack Lame-ar, J Quill or Meek MiLL chart continuously for 430 weeks. Only the 6ix God can do that, you haters. Real ting ya kno? #DrakeIsLoveDrakeIsLife

      1. where is fake drake’s gaylist and where is Kendrick’s DAMN on the Hot 100 right now? Kendrick is #1…NONE of the 20 songs on fake drake’s gaylist are on the Hot 100! DRAKEISFAKEDRAKEISWACK

    5. Dude buzz has been dwindling down for a min.
It must be painful to have an album this year with 20+ tracks and none of them are charting. Yikes!

    6. Wayne had a great run as well, Drake is pretty much his protege through and through, though not adept lyrically, his sex appeal and crooning R&B anthems demand he be remembered, and let’s be real. Women are more likely to sing out your lyrics then rap them. Kudos!
