Drake Ties One Of The Beatles’ Billboard Chart Records

Just over two weeks after the mixtape’s release, Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late has broken yet another Billboard record, this time challenging The Beatles’ historic takeover of the Billboard 100 chart 51 years ago.

Since the iconic Rock band accomplished the feat in April of 1964, no other artist before Drake has had 14 songs simultaneously charting on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Billboard. Despite the record, Drake’s 14 charting songs include four on which he appears as a featured artist while The Beatles managed all 14 as lead artists in ’64. Further, when the British Rock group first accomplished the feat they held five songs on the Top 10 while Drake’s highest last peaked at #16.

The latest record comes just days after news that Drake became the first artist to tally 21 concurrent tracks on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, a feat he accomplished in part with all 17 songs from his latest release appearing on the list.

In late 2013 Drake nearly duplicated The Beatles’ Hot 100 record with a dozen songs appearing simultaneously on the Hot 100 chart, a byproduct of his strong Nothing Was the Same album release.

Additionally, Billboard reports that Drake now has the fifth most Hot 100 appearances ever with 85, two more than Jay Z and fourteen more than The Beatles.

      1. That monster song was SO Hiphop right? Pop hook, pop beat, and pop lyrics which Flo Rida could have done.

      2. Wo yo’re gonna pretend Hold On, We’re Going Home, the ultimate shit pop song, doesn’t exist? Monster is a hip-hop song, it doesn’t have a pop hook, beat, and lyrics. Flo Rida would be incapable of making something like that.

      3. Hold On is an R&B song. It reminds me of michael jackson with some stevie wonder. Monster is obviously pop. Are you deaf?

      4. Hold On is a pop song, not R&B. It sounds nothing like Michael Jackson or Stevie Wonder, it sounds like Justin Bieber or some gay ass boy band. Monster is not pop. You’re the deaf one.

    1. drake breaks records again and again and again, and niggas still find a reason to hate. drake will go down as a legend whether y’all like it or not.

      1. Not with the new way Billboards now charts music. This means anyone with a hit record will have multiple spots on the billboard charts from now on.

This nonsense started in November when they counted streams towards the charts.

      2. “You mad though” is dead and played out….

Never said I wasn’t a fan or not…I said that if someone gets a hot album multiple tracks from the entire album will most likely pop on the charts too. So if Young Thug ever makes a gold album, expect 10 tracks from that album to chart on the Billboards as well.

This puts a lot of people on the radar against people that got it the hard way.

      3. He needs more D riders to click stream on everything he does and call it great….

and how he was at 230,000 copies in January and magically became gold a month later after dropping 37th to the 54th spot on the charts is beyond me….

      4. Shady XV is not Eminem’s latest album, MMLP2 is. Shady XV is a compilation, learn the difference between that and a solo album

      5. Aubrey ain’t breaking any real records and he won’t be a legend, especially when he has no classics. K-Dot is way ahead of him in that sense.

      6. Just because Eminem is responsible for Shady XV doesn’t mean it’s his album. Lil Wayne is responsible for both We Are Young Money and Rise Of An Empire, nobody’s saying they’re his albums. Think next time.

      7. Shut the fuck up bitch. You always compare drake to eminem. And Drake has almost as many billboard hits from this album alone as eminem did in his entire fucking career.

      8. I never compared them both at all. And your last sentence is a lie because the number of hits Eminem has in his entire career is bigger than all of the ones on Drake’s one album, which has 17 songs and only one made the Top 40.

    2. Just because Eminem is responsible for Shady XV doesn’t mean it’s his album. Lil Wayne is responsible for both We Are Young Money and Rise Of An Empire, nobody’s saying they’re his albums. Think next time.

Wayne was already proven to be a disloyal fuck. Quit dickriding him. Drake is the face of rap.

      1. Oh, look. teethboy AKA Dan is here. Wayne wasn’t disloyal and where in that comment was there any dickriding of Wayne? Also, Drake is not and will never be the face of rap. Get that bullshit outta here.

      2. I’m not dan but he’s right. Wayne got greedy, backstabbed his cash money fans including birdman. Furthermore, he was halfassing his carter 5 work and birdman didn’t want CM’s reputation to get hurt.

      3. Yeah, you obviously are Dan cosigning himself. youngsta would never defend anyone over the age of 30. Wayne didn’t get greedy and he never backstabbed anyone, Birdman did by backstabbing everyone. Wayne’s previous albums are half-assed, too, so why is C5 any different? Birdman doesn’t care about Cash Money’s reputation getting hurt as it’s already been hurt many times.

      4. Birdman is a very generous man who gives his artists 80% of the royalties. Birdman is a personal friend and father to every artist on cash money. The fact that wayne pulls off this shit stabs birdman right in the heart.

      5. You might as well get rid of the youngsta name, Dan, because your entire comment is a lie. Birdman isn’t generous and he doesn’t give his artists 80% royalites. He’s not a friend or father to anyone on Cash Money, they’re all his bitches. He stabbed Wayne in the heart, not the other way around.

      6. How did birdman stab wayne in the heart? It’s the other way around. And he gives his artists advice and gifts. It’s Kayne that’s abusing his artists.

      7. Dan, Birdman has been stabbing people in the heart for years, it’s not surprising he’d do it to Wayne, who never did that. Birdman doesn’t give his artists advice and gifts. Kanye never abused his artists.

      8. If birdman really is stabbing wayne (which he isn’t) then why the fuck does he choose to wait until the last minute instead of 2000? When wayne had problems with birdman, he used to cooperate.

      9. Birdman been stabbed Wayne in the heart and screwed him over. That’s a fact. Cash Money is falling.

    3. Lol at people who either hate this guy or love him. I’m niether. I aint into his music coz his voice is like a little bitch, BUT i do give the nigga credit for his domination. Unfortunately the facts are there, and atm he is running the game.
