According to Drake, R&B star Jamie Foxx — who played the lead role in the 2004 film Ray — has been one of his best teachers, whether Foxx was aware of it or not. Yesterday (October 6), Drizzy took to Instagram to pay his respects to Foxx, writing, “I learned how to perform from watching The Foxx Box…this man made people laugh, made people feel connected and engaged, made the room feel small and made people laugh while he bodied a full blown singing performance.
“Thank you Foxx,” he continued. “I just watched this again and wanted to pay homage.”
Drake and the multi-talented artist teamed up for the 2010 song “Fall For Your Type.”
The Toronto superstar has been on his Summer Sixteen Tour in support of his massively successful album, Views, for the better part of this year. Check out the post in full below.
Say what you will… Jamie Foxx is one of the most talented, coolest individuals I have ever gotten to meet. An AMAZING human being before he’s an AMAZING artist, actor, comedian, etc.
SALUTE Jamie and all the best to Drake with VIEWS’ concerts and all that! Amazing hustle, never knock that.
