Drake Wasn’t As Generous To 2 McDonald’s Employees As Initially Believed

An entertainment reporter at CNN says Drake didn’t actually give two employees at a Los Angeles McDonald’s $10,000 cash as originally believed. According to Chloe Melas, the tip was a fraction of that.

“I’ve just confirmed with the PR company who represents @McDonalds that @Drake did not tip $10,000 to the employees,” Melas tweeted. “He gave them $100 each.”

The news started making the rounds on Wednesday (January 30) after Twitter user @imajnoel — who was at the same McDonald’s when Drake walked in — claimed he’d witnessed the philanthropic Toronto superstar hand $10,000 in cash to two female employees.

But, apparently that wasn’t the case. @imajnoel will likely have some explaining to do.

Drake was evidently in a giving mood earlier this week when he walked into a McDonald’s looking for some grub. According to a witness, the 6 God handed two women working at the fast food establishment $10,000 in cash.

“Just saw Drake in McDonald’s…crazy,” the witness tweeted. “And he have two female employees $10,000 each … in cash.”

When pressed for details, the witness provided a photo of Drizzy at the counter surrounded by two security guards, including one who was proudly rocking the OVO logo on his hoodie.

Drake exhibited similar behavior while shooting the video for “God’s Plan” in Miami last February. The philanthropic Toronto superstar paid for people’s groceries, gave a University of Miami college student $50,000, took a housekeeper on a $10,000 shopping spree, donated $25,000 to Miami Senior High School and donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter — and those are just the donations that were made public.

He also walked up to people on the street and handed them stacks of cash as they burst into tears. In total, he spent roughly $996,631.90 on good deeds.

        1. How is it a good thing?

Those two should be disciplined for taking tips according to McD’s code of conduct.

Their colleagues, particularly those who prepared the food rather than simply handing it over, probably aren’t best pleased.

Giving cash to random strangers is not “giving back to the community”.

And what is 10k to Drake anyway? It’s like most of their customers dropping their change in the charity box.

So there’s a list of reasons why it’s not a great act of charity. If you don’t have a better response than “hater” you’re an idiot.

          1. And see thats the beauty its funny to always hear people like that talk about how wealthier people need to distribute their wealth to the poor more then the poor gets given something and its funny how they dont share it with the poor I.E the cook who made the food and wrapped it along with shift manager who taught both of you your job

    1. As much as I dislike Drake as an artist, he seems to be giving back to the community a whole lot. So props to him for that.

      1. Completely agree. Never cared for his music, but it’s really good to see he’s not overly jaded by the stacks he’s bringing in.

    2. Why just those two females? What about all the other employees? Didn’t this cornball lame have a video last year where he gave away a million dollars to random strangers? They’re probably wondering why the Corn God didn’t give them $10k each either. And no, I’m not a McDonalds employee or any fast food employee before you Drake stans get upset, reply with that and chuckle at your own comment.

    3. im far from doing bad and far from drakes bank account status & might grab a mcchicken once or twice a year in an emergency but millionaires really eat that poison? kinda outgrew that garbage round 21

      1. Coincidence that Kim Kardashian just posted a picture of herself at a McDonald’s too? Prob not. Corporations are getting VERY creative with how they market these days

    4. You regard this as good for the community because you would like to see it happen to yourself. Drake is just twirling his dick in front of us all. And Pusha T won.

      1. Drake swagger jacking again, if the dick twirl then this time from Rick Flair….WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    5. Now that’s what I call paying it forward good for Drake I like everything that he stands for and most importantly the image that he projects, one of positivity love and celebration of love, life and living. I really like the guy and what he’s all about, if there’s one I find a little troublesome is he needs to start using condoma more a man in his position needs to be more cautious but, he’s an awesome entertainer
