Drake and PartyNextDoor‘s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U has officially knocked Kendrick Lamar‘s GNX from the top spot on the Billboard 200.
The album, which is Drake’s 14th to top the chart, sold 246,000 equivalent units in its debut week on sale.
With the accolade, Drake now ties JAY-Z and Taylor Swift for being the solo artist with the most number one albums in the chart’s near 70-year history. Only The Beatles, with 19, have more.
Drake has now released 14 number one albums in 15 years while $ome $exy $ongs 4 U is PND’s first album to reach the summit of the Billboard 200.
It is also Drake’s third collaborative album to top the chart after What A Time to be Alive with Future in 2015 and Her Loss with 21 Savage in 2022.
$ome $exy $ongs 4 U picked up over 287 million streams across the week, the biggest streaming launch for an album since Kendrick’s GNX last December.
Meanwhile, GNX slipped back down to number three, selling another 136,000 equivalent units despite being released three months ago.
Despite taking the number one spot, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U comes in slightly below projections with mid-week tallies expecting the album to hit 250,000 units sold.
The collaborative project is also the fifth lowest-selling of Drake’s career (based on first-week sales) behind So Far Gone (73,000), Care Package (109,000), Honestly Nevermind (204,000) and Dark Lane Demo Tapes (223,000) and his second poorest full-length debut on the chart.
To add insult to injury, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U would fall short of Kendrick’s own post-beef album GNX, which opened with 319,000 units last November.
$ome $exy $ongs 4 U also helped Drake temporarily eclipse Kendrick for the most single-day Spotify streams by a rapper this year with 92.4 million.
Over on Spotify, it earned 56.6 million first-day streams, which is the second biggest debut of the year so far behind The Weeknd‘s Hurry Up Tomorrow.
It also made a big splash on Apple Music by breaking the all-time record for the biggest single-day streams for an R&B album on the streaming platform.
On the project itself, Drizzy appeared to reference his beef with Kendrick while also taking a shot at his longtime frenemy Joe Budden.
Sure, with help from PartyNextDoor and payola.
Drake is still trash! Compton ALL DAY! His Gay a$$ and Farty next door can eat a fat one!
*Farts in Canadian*
Hey Buddy, Aboot time you show Drake some respect there friend.
@🇨🇦Patriot Hey buddy, only effeminate and gay men are Drake fans.. which one are you? Probably both, eh ?
If you want to come out go ahead man , nobody is going to accuse you of anything. People that love to bash gay people are the gayest MF in the world. Don’t run from who you really are okay, nobody cares
Yeah he will have a single week with a #1 album even though the album has no corresponding #1 song. Streams already dipped so next week this album will fall low.
And this time, buying clicks on streaming platforms to make his music number one doesn’t bother him. Unlike him, Kendrick isn’t going to sue the record label for this dubious method.
And it’s all over Drakes subreddit and Twitter, Drake fans are purposely doing stuff like muting it leaving on streaming on repeat while sleeping and doing stuff to inflate the numbers. These people are insane
gregs going to talk his shit after he cleans that sticky mess off his keyboard
Drake looks like a blobfish.
Or like he smelled his own fart
THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. DRAKE BEAT BENDRICK’S BUM ASS. EVEN THOUGH HE REALLY SOLD 750,000 AND BILLBOARD IS SUPPRESSING HIS TRUE ALBUM SALES DRAKE STILL OUTSELLS EVERYONE.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the gayest of them all?……….. Drake
Naw, great greg holds that title
I have never 🎧 to Drake b4 nor after “Not Like Us” I been bumpin that K Dot. Y’all gotta 🎧 to Da Baby’s “Not Like Us”
The pale Canadian pop singer will always have his fans of dateless, obese females and fruity men. But his album received horrible reviews, even from his own fans. A really awful album
Haters hating in the comments. Even with republic records disregarding 500k sales worth of streams, drake still winning with nearly 250k in cd sales for 750k in total sales which is bigger than any kendrick albums first week sales
So the album did well. So I guess that Drake won’t blame UMG and Spotify for the sales of this one. It’s all selective.
Fake stats. Both are frauds Kendrick has Mexicans write for him while Drake has Africans. J Cole has Americans like JID write for him and before had Kanye write for him who also wrote for Drake. These guys are all fake.
“Fifth Lowest.” Ya’ll really scrap the barrel to drag him. I don’t even like the album but clearly roc nation pays you guys. There is 0 need for a reference to FIFTH lowest.
didn’t even read the last sentence. “Temporarily eclipses kendrick” so is there proof of kendrick beating 92.4 million streams in a day this year or is it just more BS spewing.
But why are they counting collaborative albums as part of the #1 albums by a solo artist? Even Jay, it should only be 13 albums because 1 of the 14 is Watch The Throne? Albums by 2 solo artists who joined forces should not be considered, and before this album rollout it really hasn’t been a thing. Jay himself brags about 13, not 14.
That don’t mean none tho in this case
Sam that was whack
