Drake Breaks The Beatles’ Chart Record & Reaches Historic RIAA Milestone

Drake has made history twice in one day by breaking a longstanding chart record previously held by the Beatles while also hitting a staggering RIAA milestone.

According to Chart Data, the Canadian superstar has become the artist with the most cumulative weeks charting on the Billboard 200, surpassing the legendary British rock band.

Drake’s albums have now collectively spent over 3,348 weeks on the chart, a streak that dates back over a decade and a half to 2009’s So Far Gone.

The Beatles previously held the record with 3,311 weeks, while Taylor Swift has also edged past the iconic group with 3,313.

The only other Hip Hop artist in the top 10 is Eminem with 2,423 weeks.

It was also reported on Tuesday (April 8) that Drake has become the first artist to surpass 500 million RIAA-certified units across albums, singles and features.

It means the 6 God has extended his lead as the highest-certified artist in RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) history, a title he has held since 2022 when he eclipsed fellow commercial juggernaut Eminem.

Drake’s historic RIAA haul includes six diamond singles (“God’s Plan,” “One Dance,” “Hotline Bling,” “Work” with Rihanna, “Sicko Mode” with Travis Scott, “Life Is Good” with Future), the most among all rappers (excluding Post Malone).

He also boasts over half a dozen songs nearing the 10 million sales mark and a string of multi-platinum projects including Take Care (8x platinum), Views (8x platinum), Scorpion (7x platinum), Nothing Was the Same (6x platinum) and More Life (4x platinum).

Drake is also currently enjoying renewed success on the Billboard Hot 100 after suffering a downturn in his commercial dominance following his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar last year.

His latest single, “Nokia,” sits at number three on this week’s chart after climbing four spots, thanks to the release of its accompanying music video.

The track, which initially debuted at number 10 and quickly fell out of the top 10 before its recent surge in popularity, is Drizzy’s highest-charting effort in two years since “First Person Shooter,” his chart-topping collaboration with J. Cole that coincidentally sparked his feud with Kendrick.

“Nokia” is expected to climb even higher on next week’s Hot 100, although it faces stiff competition for the top spot from his archrival’s “Luther” collaboration with SZA, which has reigned supreme for seven consecutive weeks.

    1. And these sites will never put in context the fact that Beatles fans in the 60s had to physically get up and go to the store to line up and buy a physical copy of the Beatles. Drake fans are still in bed waking up listening to a new drop. It’s nowhere near the same. Stop comparing to the artists of yesterday, there’s no record broken. It’s an entirely new structure that doesn’t involve you going to the store to get music. Stop fooling people. STOP.

      1. So why did now and then from the Beatles flop today though? Beatles fans today could also stay in bed listening to it yet flopped in 99% of the countries it came out in.

If drake was around in the 60s, he would be easily outselling them in sales.

      2. So why am I such a homo? It’s cuz I flop all over Drake’s dick all day long. Fuck the Beatles. Beatles fans today can hold a candle to us Ovo groupies. I literally stay in bed getting plowed while listening to Drake’s music. If Drake existed in the 60s, he destroy the Beatles like I’d want Drake to destroy my rectum.

    2. Only thing drake beats is 14 year old puss. Physical albums and streaming aren’t the same thing. Whole planet has become retarded.

    3. Haters here really trying to dismiss drake as a flop despite his latest album going to no.1 with weaker promotion from universal and Nokia about to overtake lamer’s song for the no.1 song in america

      1. Straight men on here really trying to dismiss the power of us groupies and our natural talent of flopping and hopping all over Drake’s dick. Despite his latest album, he still Debuted no.1 on billboard without UMG’s help. Trust me, I know cuz I work as an faux accountant at Ovo and as ball fluffer. You Americans don’t know how to appreciate talent. Nokia is the song of the year. I listen to it every time my boyfriend and his homies run a train on me every night.

    4. It’s even more impressive drake is winning considering how trump and his supporters want to wipe canada off the face of the earth

    5. I wish these Drake fans could stream a hamburger when they’re hungry. Fuck off. Beatles is still the king.

    6. It would have been antisemitic if he wouldn’t have beat their record, because the Beatles are white and Drake’s ethnicity rhymes with bike.

    7. Drake is doing his Satanic J✡️wish Kabbalah to make his mediocre music go number one.

    8. Comparing to an era where each record sale was… a literal sale, and there were MULTI BILLION less listeners who had access to said music is so unfair. Digital streams should never be seen as sales.
