Drake and 21 Savage’s fun with their fake Vogue magazine looks to be coming to an end.
The Her Loss duo probably didn’t expect their album promo strategy to backfire and lead to a $4 million lawsuit, but Vogue‘s publisher, Condé Nast, has secured an early legal victory after suing Drizzy and 21 earlier this week.

According to Billboard, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff sided with Condé Nast during a hearing on Wednesday (November 9), with Rakoff ruling that the fake magazines were “deceiving the public” and “misleading consumers.”
Judge Rakoff issued a temporary restraining order for Drake and 21 to immediately stop distributing the fake magazines. According to the report, the judge’s injunction suggests Condé Nast will eventually win the lawsuit altogether.
“Issuance of the requested temporary restraining order is in the public interest to protect the public against confusion, deception and mistake,” Rakoff wrote in his ruling.

Earlier this week, Condé Nast sued the OVO hitmaker and Slaughter Gang honcho for $4 million in damages for the magazines, which came as part of their Her Loss rollout. The mock magazine even included a doctored photo of Drake with long-running Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour inside.
Condé Nast claims they repeatedly told reps for Drizzy and 21 Savage that they didn’t have its permission to go produce and distribute the magazine. A judge will decide their fate at a November 22 hearing when both sides will meet in court.

TMZ‘s sources claimed Drake’s team was “surprised and confused” by the lawsuit as other entities like Howard Stern and NPR have happily played along with the album promo run.
The 6 God has since deleted his Instagram post promoting the magazine. He even shouted out the fashion magazine on his “Jimmy Cooks” collaboration with 21 Savage earlier this year, rapping: “Bitch, don’t tell me that you model if you ain’t been in ‘Vogue.’”
“Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow,” he wrote in the caption of his since-deleted post. “Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment.”
