Dr. Dre Reportedly Being Sued For $6 Million

Dr. Dre is facing legal action for using the song “If It Aint Ruff” in the upcoming N.W.A movie, theJasmineBRAND reports.

According to the celebrity news blog, Leroy “Prince Phillip” Mitchell is alleging that Dre and fellow N.W.A member MC Ren used a ’70s sample from his song, “Star in the Ghetto.”

Mitchell is seeking $6 million dollars from the billionaire mogul for using the sample in the Straight Outta Compton flick without his permission.

The R&B funk singer-songwriter says that despite reaching out to Universal to notify them of the infringement, they chose to include the track regardless.

Additionally, Mitchell claims he’s been “screwed out of royalties, fees, sales and has had his reputation damaged as a result of Dre’s actions.”

    1. “The ’70s R&B singer claims he’s been “screwed out of royalties, fees, sales and has had his reputation damaged as a result of Dre’s actions.” – Not a good way to begin an article… like yall hadn’t even said who the singer is yet.. it would work if you had put his name in the title

    2. That maybe his song but the original sample came from the average white band doing their rendition of the song.
