R.A. The Rugged Man says that Ray Rice is being treated unfairly. The former Baltimore Ravens running back punched and knocked out his then-fiance in February. Later in the NFL offseason, Rice was given entered into diversionary program through the legal system that did not include incarceration and was suspended by the NFL for the first two games of the 2014 NFL season.
But video of the altercation between Rice and his then-fiance was released September 8. Later that day, Rice’s contract was terminated by the Ravens and he was suspended indefinitely from the NFL.
R.A. The Rugged Man cites domestic violence incidents with Floyd Mayweather, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail in 2011 after pleading guilty to a domestic battery charge, and Chris Brown, who in 2009 assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna, as examples of people being unfair to Rice and his situation.
“It’s the most hypocritical thing in the world,” R.A. The Rugged Man says during an exclusive interview that premiered in the DX Daily today (September 26). “Ray Rice punches his girl out. It’s on tape. So now, ‘Ah. He’s the worst person that ever fuckin’ lived. Oh. Ray Rice’s the worst person that ever lived.’ But then they go and pay $60 to see Floyd Mayweather fight. Because [his domestic abuse incident] wasn’t on video, it was OK? Then, you pick up the Billboard magazine. It’s Chris Brown’s face. So, what? You forgot that they did that? So now Ray Rice is a monster, but these people, ‘I’ll buy the Billboard.’ ‘I’ll buy the fight.’ OK. If you don’t want to hold it against Floyd and Chris Brown, OK. Then don’t hold it against Ray Rice. But don’t say Ray Rice is the fuckin’ devil…Either everybody’s a devil or nobody’s a devil.
“Everybody’s a human being,” R.A. The Rugged Man continues. “Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody does dumb shit in their life. A guy like Ray Rice was caught doing a fucking horrendous act, but if his act is so horrendous, then think it’s horrendous when everybody does it, not just the one man.”
Scarface is among the other artists who feel that Rice is not being treated fairly.
“I think they double jeopardizing cuz, though,” Scarface said in an interview that was published earlier this month. “You know what I am saying? When [Ray is] in trouble, he shouldn’t have put his hands on that girl, right? I’m in agreement with that. You are never, never supposed to hit a woman.
