Doja Cat only joked about getting her first tattoo just last summer – and she’s been steadily adding to her collection ever since.
For her latest addition, the “Juicy” rapper got the skeleton of a bat inked on a larger portion of her back. In anticipation of fans calling it “demonic” like they did with her last tattoo, Doja added a screenshot of literature about bats when posting the ink, highlighting the part where it says they “often represent death in the sense of letting go of the old and bringing in the new. They are symbols of transition, of initiation and the start of a new beginning.”

“‘Don’t explain yourself’ is so corny,” Doja wrote in the post’s caption on Thursday (May 4) before editing it to simply a bat emoji.

Doja Cat’s last tattoo featured a scaled animal amalgamated with female genitalia on her forearm. Responding to the immediate backlash of both “demonic” and “Illumanati” accusations, she added a follow-up Instagram post that contained more details about the tattoo’s origins, explaining that the bizarre creatures were made as part of Fortunio Liceti’s 1655 Monsters series – which involved the artist illustrating off-putting distortions in nature.
“your fear is not my problem,” Doja wrote.
In other news, the Planet Her hitmaker recently linked with SZA for a remix of her SOS track “Kill Bill” – which just became Doja’s second No. 1 song and SZA’s first. Much like her verse on the song, her next project will likely be a rap-heavy record so she can work on her bars.
“no more pop,” Doja Cat recently tweeted. “i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny.”

She went on to respond to her critics. “I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”
When asked what inspired this new direction, Doja added: “pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it.”
