Doja Cat has come under some scrutiny for a new tattoo that some are calling “demonic,” and the rapper isn’t having any of it.
Doja responded playfully to the backlash on Sunday (April 16), which emerged after the “Need To Know” lyricist showcased a new inking she got of a scaled animal amalgamated with female genitalia.

One Twitter user wrote expressig concern over Doja’s forthcoming rap record, writing “What’s the point of writing your music and creating something if it isn’t considered timeless?! I HOPE THAT THIS ALBUM has no demonic influence. If it does, not worth listening to. I said what I said. If you don’t like it, take your grievances to @god and @jesus.”
“Slay girl yas,” Doja wrote in response.

Another critic added: “I show up when it’s time for their soul to GO TO HELL. Now play on that @dojacat, the only person in a ritual putting demonic shit on my page,” to which Doja replied, “Honestly werk.”
Doja then added in a tweet of her own: “If ur calling me demonic honestly werk cuz like i love that u ate fr.”
Doja had previously responded to the backlash with a follow-up Instagram post that contained more details about the tattoo’s origins, explaining that the bizarre creatures were made as part of Fortunio Liceti’s 1655 Monsters series, which involved the artist illustrating off-putting distortions in nature.
“your fear is not my problem,” Doja wrote.
This isn’t the first backlash Doja has had to quell in recent weeks. She recently responded to accusations that she’s encouraged young people to get plastic surgery after she underwent breast enhancement surgery.
“[G]ot my titties done and my clit bedazzled,” Doja told fans in an initial tweet earlier this month. From there, she responded to numerous replies, starting with one inquiring about how she felt. One eager fan even asked Doja to show off her new goods.
“We want to see your new boobies,” the fan wrote, to which Doja replied, “they’re swollen.”
A disgruntled fan then chimed into the conversation, writing “Stop encouraging your young and impressionable fans to change their bodies.”

In other Doja news, the Planet Her hitmaker recently linked with SZA for a remix of her SOS track “Kill Bill,” and said her next project will likely be a rap-heavy record so she can work on her bars.

She went on to respond to her critics. “I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will.”
When asked what inspired this new direction, Doja added: “pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it.”
