DMX was a guest on Tory Lanez’s recently erected Quarantine Radio show on Instagram Live, where he confirmed he was working on his new album.
Although X’s time in the session was brief, the Canadian rapper had time to praise X for all of his accomplishments, saying, “We are complete fans, right now. We fucking love everything you’ve done for Hip Hop.”
“I’m ready to do it again,” X replies. “I’m down here in Nashville, working on the album. Music don’t stop!”
Lanez then asks if X would spit a verse from the upcoming project, but he says, “You could [ask], but I probably won’t.” From there, the energy explodes as X delivers his signature growl.
X, who has battled substance abuse off-and-on for years, recently did another stint in rehab. He hasn’t dropped a project since 2015’s Redemption of the Beast but while serving time for tax evasion in 2018, he said he was looking forward to making more music.
Upon his release, he signed a new deal with Def Jam and reconnected with longtime collaborator Swizz Beatz.
Last year, X returned to the stage after getting out of rehab. During a show at Las Vegas nightclub, X delivered a powerful message to the crowd, saying, “When you fall down, get back up. Everyone here has been through some shit … and you never know what God is willing to do for you until you need him to do something for you.

Look it up, USA has much more medical equipment than ANY OTHER COUNTRY WORLDWIDE as of today. We have FORD, General Motors, TESLA, Apple, Facebook, Google, and a plethora of other corporations manufacturing the supplies we need. Also, MILLIONS of ventilators / masks have been “found” and are being distributed. Corporations had already been hoarding these supplies, and now that our Attorney General has threatened to prosecute those hoarding medical supplies, they have come clean and donated millions of masks to different hospitals. No country, not one, was prepared for the Corona virus. There is not a single country worldwide that has produced as much medical equipment as USA has right now. Turn off the media, and stop believing everyone is sick here. It’s not true at all. I live in NYC, the worst place in America for Corona virus currently. I don’t know anyone who is sick, aside from one Co worker who tested positive… And they are at home with mild cold like symptoms. The overwhelming majority of those who have tested positive do not need medical attention, and are simply recovering at home. As of today the amount of deaths worldwide for Corona virus have not topped the deaths from the Flu in America the past year. That will change soon, but the mortality rate in America is currently Lower than the swine flu.
