DJ Khaled Says JAY-Z Picked His Latest Cover Art & Says ‘God Did’ Is His Best Album

DJ Khaled has revealed that JAY-Z picked out the cover art for his upcoming thirteenth studio album, God Did which arrives on Friday (August 26).

The We The Best boss made the revelation during a recent video interview with Billboard‘s deputy director of Hip Hop and R&B Carl Lamarre. According to Khaled, he stuck to the same formula in having Hov choose a cover out of two options while also revealing the Brooklyn rap legend thinks God Did is his best album.

“I am the biggest JAY-Z fan, and I actually let him pick my album cover. I always give him like two cover options and see which one he would pick, and I did it again on this album,” Khaled said. “After I got done playing it, he pulled me aside and said, ‘Yo this is your best album.’ JAY-Z, I love you, and you know that.”

DJ Khaled unleashed the cover art earlier this week on social media, showing his face emblazoned across the front with a tear of joy falling from his eye.

“VGOD DID OFFICIAL ALBUM COVER,” he wrote. “The tear represents tears of joy from God’s blessings GOD, I LOVE U SO MUCH! ???? ?????? ?? ?? ???????? ?? ???? ???, ?? ???? ? ????? ??? ??? ??? ?????? ?? Thank you god for blessing my family, my friends and my fans. When nobody believed, YOU DID! I praise you daily. We’re here to do GODS WORK!!”

In addition to helping pick out the cover, JAY-Z is one of the All-Star names featured on the album, and his contribution has been receiving a lot of buzz. Earlier this month, DJ Khaled shared a photo of his startling reaction to hearing JAY-Z’s verse, along with a screenshot of himself on FaceTime with an equally stunned Young Guru and Roc Nation executive/photographer Lenny “Kodak Lens” Santiago.

Young Guru pushed the excitement even higher by tweeting, “HOV is the greatest of all time. This can’t be debated anymore!!!”

Lenny S., meanwhile, shared a photo on Instagram of Hov at Jungle City Studios, the storied NYC studio where he and others like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna have recorded in the past.

“If you’re a real Artist you know exactly where this is and you know exactly what’s happening,” he wrote in the caption. “@djkhaled @youngguru763 The BEST to ever do this shit!!!!”

    1. It’s another album that’ll be get beat on the billboard chart by another gay artist and he’ll cry about it like he did last time too lol.

        1. Nothing with DJ Khaled is organic LMAO!!!! GTFOH That fat fraud is nothing but a loud mouth groupie. He doesn’t do anything musically at all. He honestly hasn’t produced a record since 2008, seriously look it up. Check the production credits. He has other people produce for him and he takes credit for it just like Diddy does. He steals their work. Tyler,The Creator actually is a rapper and a producer. I don’t like his music personally but he does have much more credibility and talent than that fat fraud. I don’t care about his personal preferences but he’s still more versatile of a producer than DJ Khaled would ever be.

          1. Dj Khaled brings producers and artists together and has the ability to turn highly expensive songs into cheap ones. That is true talent.

            1. Stop, your just embarrassing yourself. He will never be considered a real producer like DJ Premier, Hit-Boy, Timbaland, Dr Dre, DJ QUIK, or even Ye.

            2. Dj Khaled is basically the next quincy Jones. He makes bopping music for everyone to listen to. Those other producers fell the fuck off

            3. Quincy Jones would bitch slap the shit out of you and DJ Khaled for even saying that. He will never and I mean “NEVER” be considered a real producer.

            4. Those other producers are legends, Khaled isn’t even on DJ Paul’s level yet as far as accolades.

    2. You know you’re an ugly mofo when your face is being sold as a Halloween mask by itself. You actually give little kids nightmares LMAO!!! COME HERE, KIDS!!! WE THE BEST!!! WE TAKING OVER!!! ANOTHER AND ANOTHER ONE!! Kids are going to needs decades of therapy after experiencing that. Please stop it already.

    3. JAY-Z even said this was my best album after i paid him a grip to sign a prepared statement that said exactly that – DJ Khaled

Homey, your best album is still the worst album of all time. Give up on your sad dreams, mentally disabled fat man.

      1. Them shitlocks are eating what’s left of Jigga’s brain cells so he’s no longer able to think straight anymore so he’s be lost to us since they’ve been planted so his sense of judgement is s definitely gone. Khaled been taking advantage of this fact and using Jigga’s star power to boost his ego while also trying to bolster his dismal sales by pulling in the pitty fans of Jay-Z into buying his music thinking that they’re going to get the old Jigga back but instead get treated to an album full of a screaming Fat Arab Guy who just robbed you of your 15 dollars and now thinks he’s 100X better than everyone else because of it. It’s why nobody support his Khaled’s music

          1. Not hating on Jay-Z, just speaking the truth but why are you bashing Nas so much for no reason. It makes no sense whatsoever. I think you might have a hard-on for Jay-Z. If you really like him that much then why don’t you join the CocNation fan club like the rest of the fruits.

          2. Damn, you got Jigga’s entire ball sack in your mouth and still have the ability to type at the same time. Now that’s talent.

        1. What, steal other artist’s work and extorting then by forcing other artist to record songs by threatening to sit on them if they don’t. Being an intolerable fat insufferable obnoxious asshole. Yeah, he has done more than I care to and would ever want to do to be a douchebag.

          1. These artists give him their songs and features at a huge discount just by being a great friend and motivational speaker. He didn’t steal anything.

        2. By “doing more” you mean ‘eating more” yes that fucking whale eats a lot more than me.

            1. STFU, you trans H03V0 troll. Khaled has been on a diet for 20 years and still hasn’t lost any weight. In fact, his head has gotten bigger.

    4. nope not giving a morbidly obese arab douchebag who thinks producing is yelling his name over some stupid shit he didn’t have a hand in creating any of my money. for a laugh go on youtube and search dj khaled dancing video game awards. you’re welcome

    5. if there’s a god, you know what that god thinks about money; look who they gave all the fuckin money to
