During a recent sit-down with The Breakfast Club, Drama said his eagerness to get back into the studio came after working on Tyler, The Creator’s Grammy-winning Call Me If You Get Lost in 2021.

“I was in a new gear ever since the Tyler Call Me If You Get Lost sparked. I felt reinvigorated and I ran with it and put this album together,” he said. “I think he kinda in a sense revitalized Gangsta Grillz, just as far as what was going on with mixtapes.

“I’m not in a position of speaking politically correct anymore,” Drama said in a recent interview with Cigar Talk. “For what I’ve done for the culture and what I’ve given to people and what I’ve given to Hip Hop, like n-ggas, can’t see me.”

He continued: “Second of all, don’t ever question about what I mean to Hip Hop. How many classic mixtapes would we not have if it wasn’t for DJ Drama?”
