Diddy is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 BET Awards later this month. The award show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Center in Los Angeles on the night of June 26.
“Diddy has always been a pioneering force in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, blazing new trails, and, in so doing, raising the bar for all of us,” BET CEO Scott Mills said in a statement.
Past winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award include music dignitaries such as Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Samuel Jackson, Lionel Richie and New Edition.
BET looks to honor industry legends that have not only had an indelible impact on music with their artistic careers, but are also “transformative leaders” that blazed a path to inspire and lay a foundation for generations to follow.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is an incomparable cultural force and creative visionary whose impact has created historic paradigm shifts across music, media, fashion, and lifestyle,” added BET EVP Connie Orlando.
“It’s personally gratifying to celebrate and honor a longtime partner and friend of the network who, through the decades, has laid the blueprint for Black excellence through entertainment.”

He’s been a horrible executive producer for over almost 3 decades now. How many artist can you count right now who are previous Bad Boy artist are doing well finally after being on his label. And also,why are you getting defensive about him being gay. We all know him and Andre Harrell had a thing going on anyways, that’s why they blacklisted so many artist that didn’t give in and give up their freedom, copyright credits, publishings,masters, production credit, or ass willingly. It’s was demoralizing to the artist and show fear and then Harrell and Diddy can force them to do whatever they want just because the artist is desperate to getting paid like forcing them to do house shows little to no pay, forcing them to go on tour with promises of increased pay only to never receive it, or force an artist to perform sexual favors just because they have that much power, control,and ability to be able to make them do stuff like that.They get off on that kind of stuff.
