With Pusha T’s new album, DAYTONA, out Friday (May 25), it was expected there would be plenty of reactions from the Hip Hop world. Even leading up to its release, folks couldn’t stop talking about the Whitney Houston cover art.
The 7-track LP has two features — Rick Ross and Kanye West — and as Pusha said it has, “No fluff. No filler.”
With that said, people have had a decent amount of time to listen to it (all 21 minutes) and some of Hip Hop’s favorites have already responded.
Diddy says it’s a “Modern day masterpiece.”
Nas called it a “Classic album.”
Even Kanye took a moment to speak on the album and the “overwhelmingly positive response” it received.
Take a look at some of the reactions to DAYTONA below.

I have to be honest, 10-11 songs is what I was expecting…but it’s a phenomenal release. Kanye did it again….(it pains me to say that).
Why does it pain you? Kanye is a great producer. He aint a rapper because he has writers but as far as having an ear for beat…he is king. He is a coon though..lol
Trash!! Cant f with kendrick!!
okay
This is a mixtape, not an album
Album is ???
Always sharp but This guy needs hooks – shoulda paid drake like Kanye does
Bro that song was fire????
The album is fire…I wouldn’t say classic but it’s solid. Only time will tell.
They like the album so much because thankfully there are no trap records on this album! The world is a better place without repetitive, no originality trap music. Pusha proves that you can have that content lyrically, but the music needs to be authentic and original to stand out. All trap artists on trap beats sound the same. Why are people so scared to go against mumble rap like JayZ did DOA? He helped kill a whole style of hiphop (for the better) by expressing the thoughts everyone shared. We need more that Royce or Em to go after mumble/trap rap.
This album is definitely on fire
Still hate that it’s so short but the songs are fire. Expected no less from Pusha.
Have a heard a better album? Of course. But not in the last 10 years. Modern classic man. So fucking dope. One of the best albums I’ve heard in almost 2 decades. Real talk.
