There’ve been numerous country and Hip Hop collaborations in the past, however none of them have involved Darius Rucker. The Hootie & The Blowfish lead singer wants that to change.
Recently speaking with VOA News, the former Hootie & the Blowfish member says he wants to collaborate with a big time rapper before his career is over.
“I don’t have much left on my bucket list. One of the things that I’m dying to do is to sing the hook on a big rap song,” Rucker said. “No one’s ever called me to do that.”
So who’s on his list to work with?
Jay Z, Eminem and Snoop Dogg, for starters.
“Somebody that’s had a career; I get where they’re coming from, they get where I’m coming from,” he said. “Let’s do something cool.”
The two genres of music have collaborated numerous times in the past creating many smash hits and attracting fans from both sides.
In 2013, Nelly joined forces with Florida Georgia Line for “Cruise (remix).”
WHO
Are you familiar with Hootie & the Blowfish? They had hits in the 90s.
Of course he would pick white peoples favorite rappers. Snoop is probably the only one desperate enough to work with him, he has no shame, he will do anything.
True about Snoop. Other than that? He emphasized he wants to be on a “big rap song”, which is pretty much narrow down the list. Like it or not, Jay or Em is your best bet for that. Maybe Kanye, it wouldn’t hurt anybody if he replaced Charlie Wilson to this guy once.
But Darius Rucker did work with Snoop back in 2002 on his debut. I’m just stating the facts.
