A few weeks ago, Damon Dash and Kanye West unveiled their first collaborative film, Loisaidas.
Now that fans have seen the first official offering from the pair, Dash has high hopes for the partnership and recently shared his sentiments with the New York Post.
“Hopefully, Kanye will want to get creative and jump in as an actor or director or anything he wants,” Dash told the Post. “The only thing I don’t want to do with him is music, because we’ve already done that.”
Dash and West’s partnership began in 2001, when West produced material for artists on Roc-A-Fella Records. Dash, the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella, signed ‘Ye the next year.
“There’s an expectation when Kanye and I do something,” he says. “It has to be different. It has to be authentic.”
Teaming up to do music would be “too obvious” he says. “There’s no heart in that.”
For Loaisaidas, Dash co-wrote the script, directed the film and is credited as an executive producer alongside Kanye. Dash’s film company, Damon Dash Studios, is responsible for the production of the project.
“I’m going after Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson and Woody Allen,” Dash says. “I’m going after Harvey Weinstein.”

I want Kanye West to go away
Using Beck as a moniker on a hip hop site makes me believe you’re on the wrong website homie. And guess what, 2015 is Kanye Season. So sit back down and listen to your 2 types of music (country and western)and let a pro show you how to hold it down.
Beck raps though you Kanye stan.
Country and western? Beck does multiple genres, and guess what? Some do it is hip hop, also.
*Some of it
Just because he does numerous genres doesn’t mean their good. The hip hop influenced tracks on his project sucks African Balls.
I’m no major Beck fan by any means, I only know of maybe 3-5 of his songs, I’m a huge Yeezy fan but for “Whatevs” you should check out the tune “Loser” – Beck, its not country & western, its just quality, random comment but for those seeking great music its worth a shout 🙂
Another misleading headline from DX. You make it sound like Dame is insulting Kanye by saying “Get Creative” so that suckers (like myself) will click the link to see whats up. But in fact he says, “Hopefully, Kanye will want to get creative and jump in as an actor or director or anything he wants,”. This is my fault for thinking more of you DX. I have been visiting this site for years but, in the past few your site has become more E! Television Network than a legit Hip Hop News source which you claim to be. Somethings gotta give. Either be one or the other, not both. If you want to be a respected hip hop news source please go with the later rather than just trying to get clicks for the “juicy” stories. Notice that you have as many readers as you do because once upon a time you used to be a respected hip hop news source. The more that you alienate your core readers the less popular you will become over time. This is why selling out is only a short term solution and not a long term one. If you want to be hot for a year and then fall off, keep doing what your doing. If you still want to be relevant in 10 years go back to what made you popular in the first place. I said my peace.
Dame is adopting Kanyes Ego cuz Kanye ain’t giving birth to a Check for Dame…
Yea this is gonna be a great one for Dame and his homie Kanye West! 2 creative genius’ at work
