In the late ’90s, Dame Dash launched Roc-A-Fella Films.

The production company released Jay Z’s Streets is Watching, State Property, Paper Soldiers and Paid In Full, among others.

Dash has since started Damon Dash Studios and it appears he’s found a new partner.

Recently, the former Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder shared an image of himself standing alongside Kanye West and Q-Tip. The caption reads:

“The thing we don’t do historically and culturally is stick together but we are stopping that now if we stick together we don’t need any middle men from others cultures… We know we can do it on our own…but we are so powerful together…pause and we have our own money..we already made history in music so we can do that for fun so we’re gonna do movies… This is like when Spielberg and Geffen got together and did dreamworks…it’s time…me and kanye making movies and my brother Qtip was there to bless the deal.”

The news of Dame teaming up with Kanye to make movies arrives just weeks after he handed Kanye a BET “Honorary Vision” award.

Dame later admitted that he hadn’t spoke to Kanye in “about ten years.”

It’s unclear, at the moment, whether or not Kanye’s creative agency DONDA will be involved in any forthcoming films the two decide to do together.
