Dame Dash Apologizes To JAY-Z, Lyor Cohen, Steve Stoute & More

Dame Dash has been an outspoken critic, taking many of his past associates to task in interviews and social media rants. Now, the Hip Hop mogul is apologizing for his comments after recent interviews with Nick Cannon and Hip Hop Motivation touched on his relationship with Aaliyah and lingering issues with JAY-Z over working with R. Kelly.

The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder shared two videos via Instagram on Monday (February 11). The first, which is titled “A Real Man Can Apologize,” features Dame apologizing to JAY-Z, Lyor Cohen and Steve Stoute.

“I’m minding my business,” he says. “I have no beef with anybody. I’m looking past it.

“So JAY-Z, if I’ve offended you, I apologize. Lyor Cohen, if I offended you, I apologize. Steve Stoute, if I offended you, I apologize. Just ’cause you don’t have the same morals and principles, it’s cool. I’m not angry no more. I did what I had to do. I was a little aggravated about Aaliyah, so y’all just caught the brunt end of it. It was therapy.”

Dame’s second video, “Therapy,” continues the apology. He sends well wishes to Dipset’s Jim Jones and former label partner Kareem “Biggs” Burke. He also reiterates his apology to JAY-Z while noting how the loss of Aaliyah affected him.

“I called Jim Jones today like I miss him,” he states. “I don’t know if y’all know, but I miss him. As a brother, I love his family. I want him to be happy. And Jay, you know, the friendship we had was cool, man. I just miss it. But whatever he doing, he doing. But I’m cool with it, bro.

“I’m sorry man, I wasn’t myself for a second. Aaliyah had me fucked up. And Biggs, I’m sorry bro if I offended you. Whatever you doing, I’m with it. I love you, man. I know y’all mad at me, but whatever, I’m sorry. I can admit it. When I make some money, I’ll send you something because you my brother. I love your family.”

Both videos conclude with a message telling viewers to watch the full version on Dame’s IGTV or YouTube channel. As of Monday afternoon, the Dame Dash Studios channel hasn’t uploaded the footage to YouTube.

However, Dame has been livestreaming a variety of videos under the name DDTV here.

      1. FOH the cornball blamed them and said they don’t have the same morals and principles as he does. Same morals and principles he had when he creeped with Aaliyah behind Jays back when Jay was dating her, or the same morals and principles he had when he tried to steal Beyoncé from Jay. Dudes a fucking snake.

        1. If dame really did try to get at Beyonce then that surly would explain why they haven’t been on good terms since he’s been with her

          1. He did, that’s why Rocafella records got dissolved and why Jay won’t speak to Dame anymore but notice how since then Jay has earned 700 million while Dame is bordering on Bankruptcy and can’t keep Jays name out of his mouth. Success really is the best revenge.

    1. He apologizing because his pockets are hurting. When you’re on top you get cocky, nobody can touch you but now that you have no resources, nobody in the business wants to fuck with you, now you have an epiphany and you’re sorry. I hope he is for real. If he is, much respect to him but if this is a ploy then the apology means nothing

    2. I’m not mad at a Dame for publicity apologizing because it takes a lot of maturity and humility to say I’m sorry, especially men. Even if this results in no business moves with Jay, Biggs and Dame I would like to see them get back close as friends. Life is short. Why hold animosity?

    3. He saw that Roc Nation Pre-grammy brunch and it hurt him. He literally had a hand in all of those people careers including Kevin Hart and seeing that got him. Now he copping out like a sucker. Once a snake, always a snake.

    4. aaliyah never dated jay. he was just a thirsty guy that kept hanging around. dames apology was a moving forward apology not an “i was wrong”. and he wasnt wrong. what artist has jayz found that was all around talented. all the talented people that jayz has came from dame.

      1. Really then why since splitting rocafella up has Jay earned 700 million dollars and Dame is on the verge of bankruptcy? There’s no shortage of talent out there why hasn’t Dame been able to develop any since to avoid bankruptcy, he’s only had over 10 years and millions to do it with until recently.

    5. All of these apologies from all these soft nukkas these days… Nobody is going to F with you Dame! Your strews are gone just like the Game. You two are Bi-Polar as F!!!! Lame ass nukkas! You said it! Why would they F with you anymore. Do you think there will ever trust you.

    6. This should be called “A Real Man Can’t Even Apologize Properly”

If he says “IF I offended you” it means he doesn’t really think he’s done anything wrong which means he is not really sorry. This man keeps embarrassing himself

    7. Wtf wrong with this dude? It’s been like 15 years. It’s weird to be talking about people that you literally haven’t been around regularly for 15 years talking like that shit happened yesterday. Literally a million things have happened since then to change them to different people, and he sounds pathetic talking like it’s 2003 or some shit. Jay got three kids now and is married. He was a bachelor then with none. All the others have changed too. Shit is sad like those people still living in their high school years 10 years later.

    8. so you sitting in a dark room in army fatigues with your squad…… talking about you sorry and you miss people …but also says…’we don’t have the same morals”…. fucking comedy……
