Hampton, Virginia musician D.R.A.M. used Twitter to let loose his frustration with the similarities between Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and his record, “Cha Cha.”
“Yeah, I feel I got jacked for my record…But I’m GOOD,” D.R.A.M. wrote in a tweet sent yesterday (October 19).
He also spoke on performing in Drake’s hometown of Toronto, Canada recently, calling the performance “bittersweet.”
“Just performed in Toronto for the 1st time tonight and it was bittersweet…Sweet cus I’m out here sharing my music, my sound with the people…Bitter though, cus after my performance all I’m seeing is Cha Cha/Hotline Bling comparisons on my timeline,” D.R.A.M. wrote in a series of tweets.
HipHop-n-More reports that at the time of the release of Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” the song was promoted as a remix to “Cha Cha.”
A tweet sent in July from Beats 1, which debuted “Hotline Bling” on the OVO Sound radio show, referred to the song as the “’Cha Cha’ remix.”

Song does sound similar I think its the organ or electric piano riff… but then again the drums and hit hats sound the same on all these songs just different tempos lol. ..then again the vocals have similarities too especially in the 2 bars before the hook…you might have got jacked homie…but this nigga got the light right now so anything he does seems to be the best thang smoking….those pop hits make you a household name…as Dareal stated, [soccer moms are checking for drake] and in my opinion most chicks on the cusp of “teenage-hood” to I’m independent cause I live in the dorms at college…lol sorry im just enjoying “jonesin” a bit …yeah shit got jacked
