Consequence has slammed Pusha T for cutting ties with Kanye West, calling his behaviour “disgusting.”
The Virginia rapper stepped down as president of G.O.O.D. Music in December following a stream of antisemitic and pro-Hitler comments from Kanye, which he said were “wrong, period.” Pusha also revealed at the time that Ye was “not speaking to me now.”
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Consequence — a longtime Kanye collaborator and one of G.O.O.D. Music’s earliest acts — accused King Push of being disloyal to both Yeezy and the G.O.O.D. Music family.
“When I see something like that, I’m conflicted, I’m disgusted,” he said. “G.O.O.D. Music is something I helped build with my bare hands…so that’s why I’m disgusted when somebody who wasn’t there from the start and [whose] situation was compromised comes along, and then when Ye is in a situation that he talked himself into — he gotta be responsible for that, 100 percent — but we not gonna stick together?”
He added: “Whether I agree with Kanye or not, it’s not the principle of that. Pusha T done told you all this street shit, and now we doing this industry shit? Nah.”
The Queens, New York native went on to claim that Pusha’s former role as G.O.O.D. Music president carried no real importance, and said his issues with Kanye stem from not being allowed to perform at his third Donda listening party in Chicago in 2021.
“Does Pusha T have a right to distance himself from situations that he don’t want to be in? Yeah, he a man,” he continued. “Do those two have grievances behind the scenes that are not being spoke about? Yes they do. So part of this shit is kinda cap. The whole G.O.O.D. Music president shit, that’s cap. It ain’t been that shit for years.”
He added: “Just say you mad about the Donda party in Chicago when he ain’t let you on stage. Say that. You basically deading G.O.O.D. Music like, ‘Yo, I’m going for the Grammy and fuck the block.’ What you want me to do? Say, ‘Alright, yeah! Keep going!’ Ain’t nothing pussy about me, n-gga — at all, ya dig?”
Cons continued to keep his neck on Pusha T’s neck by referring to him as “Pharrell’s man” and wondered aloud if he’d thank Kanye West if his It’s Almost Dry LP (half of which Ye produced) wins Best Rap Album at the 2023 Grammys next month.
“I got the right to be like, ‘You know what? Nah. N-ggas ain’t gonna just dead the block like that.’ Just so you can eat? Nah,” he said. “You Pharrell’s man. That’s why you running around with Pharrell right now! And that’s cool, but my man, he in a crisis and n-ggas is out…You want me to respect that shit? Come on, bruh.
“They may communicate and resolve that situation, but as it stands, I don’t fuck with that. I expect more out of Pusha T, honestly…If Pusha T wins the Grammy, Ye did half the album! So you not gonna thank him? Or you gon’ thank him and act like you ain’t say you resigned? It’s a lot of games and I’m not really with that shit.”
The Don’t Quit Your Day Job lyricist also blamed Pusha T for fracturing his relationship with Drake, who he said he was on good terms with prior to dissing him on 2021’s “Party Time” in defense of Kanye.
“The G.O.O.D. Music-Drake problem is directly correlated with Pusha and his situation with Wayne. Prior to that, I never had no problem with Drake!” he explained. “I’ve been to Drake’s house; I’ve never been to Pusha T’s crib! I came to Drake’s house and he rolled out the red carpet for me and Kanye.
“We went over there when they were supposed to do the joint album and Drake [was like], ‘Yo, whatever y’all want, order, I’ma have the chef cook for you.’ Me and 40 speaking, ‘Come to Canada, we love you, n-gga.’ That all got flushed down the toilet over envy and telling n-ggas about a son and subbing a n-gga.”
He added: “When I got pulled into the Drake situation, it was due to the fact that it was supposed to be family. I’m not putting my neck on no fucking chopping block ever again for n-ggas that’s gonna fucking run.”
Despite his grievances with Pusha T, Consequence clarified that “ain’t none of this shit personal. That’s me speaking as a man.”
Consequence and Pusha T haven’t exactly seen eye to eye in the past. Shortly after the latter signed to G.O.O.D. Music in 2010, the pair traded shots after Cons accused Pusha of biting his lyrics on the song “My God” — an allegation that the Clipse MC denied.
Consequence even brought the beef into the booth, taking aim at his former labelmate on the diss song “The Plagurist Society,” to which Push brushed off by saying “nobody’s ever checked” for his music.
The pair eventually buried the hatchet in 2015 to work on Kanye’s then-upcoming seventh album.
I like Consequence but this guy single handedly killed Tribes run in the 90s and damn near ruined the “crew-like” image of GOOD Music at one point.
Facts. Stressed Out was his best contribution to Tribe and he was like the GOOD Music mascot or something
Bro you nailed it. Pusha T wanted to part ways with Ye and i would have to. He fucked the tribe’s 4th and 5th album up – He ‘s just corny to me- Period. He’s don’t have the IT factor . Tribe would have had 6 good to classic albums without him. Shame on Tip from allowing that shit too happen. Phife complimented him like no other- vice versa
Cons is a bitch because he had beef with Kanye years ago that he’s not bringing up. Be real Consequence.
Conflicted on Consequence. I have always enjoyed his music, but the person does some dumb sh!t. Pusha T has the ability to assess a situation and change. That is all that this was. Consequence is mentally immature in this situation.
It’s over for Consequence in a nutshell lol.
Cons acting stupid. Must be getting that Memphis Bleek love from Kanye…
It’s over for Consequence in a nutshell lol.
Cons speaking up for his sugar daddy since no one is checking for him anymore.
“Cons continued to keep his neck on Pusha T’s neck” – yeah, that makes a lot of sense
Cons…you claim to have built good music with your bare hands. However, Pusha T was the president of good music and not you. Is this your bitter hate for Pusha T finally rearing its ugly head because you weren’t chosen as president?
You guys are weirdos and horrible friends no one would want to have, you idiots. A good friend does not have to agree with you but would never openly say anything against you. This is something that consequence understands, something foreign to you weirdos. If Pusha was real, none of us should know he split up from Kanye. Save whatever he wants to say for when he sees Kanye but he’s a clown
He’s the President of GOOD Music fool, as in he had an official title with a company. He let the world know he’s no longer affiliated with GOOD Music. Ye put a strain on that relationship with his string of stupid moves. What Consequence isn’t telling you is he had a very public disagreement with Ye back in 2011 and he left GOOD. That’s why he’s a hypocrite who should keep his opinion to himself, maybe he should call Push and let his feelings be known instead of being a media whore.
Con sounds like a clown who can support Kanye when he is saying crazy stuff about Jews and other people? That is why all types of companies left him. His ship is sinking fast, I wouldn’t go down with him.
