Common says that fans of the Chicago White Sox have to support their neighborhood rivals the Chicago Cubs as the latter try to clinch the World Series for the first time since 1908.
The Chicago native, a fan of the White Sox, appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers recently claiming that he wants to see unity across baseball fans in his hometown.
“Yes, a White Sox fan has to root for the Cubs,” Common said. “Even though there’s some hardcore White Sox fans who will not root for the Cubs and root against them … I’m bridging this gap. I’m about unity, and I’m from Chicago. I want to see the Cubs wins. 100 years. Come on … Even with [Steve] Bartman. [It’d be nice to see him] redeemed.”
The Cubs are currently tied 3-apiece with the Cleveland Indians following their 9-3 victory in yesterday’s Game 6 at Progressive Field, setting up a historic Game 7.

Not from Chicago but I can respect this, even though it seems a regular Cubs fan wouldn’t dare to step into the south side.
Fuck outta here lmao. Cubs fans showed no love when the Sox won in 05. When or lose, they’ll never be cheered by me.
I rooted for the sox in 05
Bartman doesn’t need redeemed. Cubs were up 3 in the 8th. They blew the lead, not because some goof interfered with a foul bowl that would have only been the 2nd out of the 8th inning, which even Moisis Alou admitted he wouldn’t have caught.
That poor bastard got all the heat for the Cubs fucking up.
